As we approach the end of 2024, an estimated 260 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 has been funnelled into Data Centre projects across the globe. The projections for 2025 are looking 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫, fuelled by the 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 5𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 for future generations, and the continuous rise of 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐈. AI requires vast amounts of computing power & storage capacity, which is fantastic for the Data Centre industry, if not for John Connor. How else do you think AI will transform the industry?

The implementation of AI is currently taking precedence over many data centers. With this in mind, ensuring resiliency in data centers is crucial to managing the backend and the substantial energy consumption associated with AI. The article below from Data Center Frontier talks about how maintaining consistent availability with AI requires robust resilience measures. The International Energy Agency reports that energy consumption in data centers will double by 2026, due to the fact that training AI consumes 50 times more energy than previous generations. Therefore, addressing concerns such as UPS failure, transfer switch failure, generator failure, and human error is imperative to enhance data center resilience. Data center outages can severely impact businesses and their operations. To meet the demands of AI effectively, data center operators must strive to maximize availability. A decision must be made in order to prepare for the future of AI and data centers must prioritize energy efficiency in order to mitigate the risk of outages. #datacenters #AI

#artificialintelligence, #fulcrumvets, #technology, #datacenters AI’s rapid evolution has brought with it monumental challenges for the data centers underpinning this revolution. Processing capability expansion beyond single data centers has been constrained by three interrelated factors: efficient data transmission across geographically separated centers (“Ping”), managing enormous power requirements (“Power”), and the logistical hurdles of scaling connectivity (“Pipe”). These “triple constraints” have driven hyperscalers, hardware developers, and telecom companies to rethink data center strategies. Here’s how the industry is addressing these issues.
