Over the past few months, I’ve had the opportunity to lead our technician team as interim Automation Technician Supervisor. I’m excited to dive back into my regular role with some new perspective, relationships, and key learnings from managing a 24/7 team: ✅ Look for communication gaps and plug them QUICKLY. 🎯 In a contract manufacturing world, new info and priorities are the norm. Take ownership and be the person that ensures all the pieces are together. ✅ Your best resources are your colleagues, on your team and within your organization. 🎯 Pay it forward and strive to be a great teammate, it’ll set the foundation for when you need to ask for help or favors. ✅ Raise your hand. 🎯 Jump at the task others are hesitant to take on, offer your opinion on a tricky path forward, and ask the question that feels “dumb” in your head. You’ll grow faster and the people around you will be better for it.

I found an air compressor technician in California who is    A non-job hopper.   A rotary screw and centrifugal compressor expert    He is experienced in electrical and mechanical engineering, past the compressor.   HE was only asking for 30.00 per hour!?   There is an old saying- if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is    I had to ask the candidate directly.    “ You sound too good to be true; what is the catch?”   “ Are you an ax murder?????”   Candidate    “ ha, no, sir. I am a worn-out tech who has worked hard in the field.”   “ I know my value, but I’m looking for a company that wants me to focus on resolving the issues.”   “I am methodical with my work and don’t take shortcuts.”   “I am not the fastest. I am a tortoise, not a hare. Everything I do is based on the long term.”   A good recruiter can uncover what is not being said.   This conversation has led to a custom job speciation from my client.   They have found not only their air compressor tech but also a team member with whom they can plan long-term growth.

Today, I worked alongside a field instrument technician to install a radial vibration probe on a running compressor. Even though the sensor was validated and the gap voltage was perfect, it still wasn’t picking up the vibration. Together, we worked through the issue and found a solution. Later in the day, the technician sent me a thoughtful message thanking me for my support. It was a good reminder that knowledge sharing works both ways. Sometimes, it’s about working together, combining insights, and learning from each other. What may seem simple or routine to you could be exactly what someone else needs. We’ve all had moments where a little guidance or shared knowledge made all the difference. So, don’t hesitate to share what you know—even if it seems small. #Troubleshooting secret! ✅As a Line/maintenance technician, I frequently employed the trial-and-error method to troubleshoot and resolve complex machinery issues. One example involved a malfunctioning production machine that was intermittently shutting down, causing delays. After an initial inspection, I couldn't identify an obvious fault, as all diagnostic tools showed normal parameters. ✅Using the trial-and-error approach, I systematically tested different components one by one, including electrical circuits, sensors, and mechanical parts. I began by isolating each section of the machine, testing for irregularities. By ruling out possible causes, I eventually discovered that a faulty sensor was intermittently miscommunicating with the control system. Replacing this sensor resolved the issue entirely. ✅This method not only allowed me to find the root cause of the problem but also helped improve my problem-solving skills by learning the intricacies of the system and its various components. #maintenance #Automation #Electrical #instrumentation

Proper vacuum/evacuation procedures, troubleshooting processes, and much much more can really aid you in being an efficient and effective tech.
