Is AI a key element for the future of content creation? In particular for ad supported streaming? TCL seems to think so, as they have just launched an owned content studio that combines traditional content creation with AI-generated content. Can this innovative approach maximize platform ROI and advertisers ROAS, freshness, and engagement with a FAST service? The first 100% AI title ("Next Stop Paris") gathered a few mixed reviews but it's clearly just the beginning. It will be interesting to see how this initiative pans out and if others will follow a similar route. #AI #GenAI #FAST #TCL

“I think AI is going to take it a step further, and it’s going to be to streaming what social was to web pages.” “What if the content arms dealers don’t matter in the future? What if the next TV show I watch was created by AI and is better than Breaking Bad?” - Michael Senzon, StreamTV Show. This is an interesting viewpoint in the light of content versioning and recasting. As we all have reference to content we prefer, this logically will be an important source for creation of the new. I expect repurposing or versioning will be the dominant ingredient. Senzon pointed back to the early 2000s when visiting multiple webpages daily was common before social platforms like Facebook dominated and confined user activity. He believes the industry is “on the precipice of that with streaming,” with smart TV makers like Vizio, Roku, and Amazon aiming to be the primary destination for viewers. “I think AI is going to take it a step further, and it’s going to be to streaming what social was to web pages,” Senzon said. Key insights: AI-Powered Innovations: Senzon sees AI shaping the future of streaming, similar to how social platforms transformed web interactions. Predictive capabilities could lead to personalized content and interactive viewing experiences. “Imagine if the next version of an OEM…the OS of an OEM is actually a ‘streamGPT’,” Senzon said. This model would understand user patterns and preferences, suggesting personalized content like, “’Hello Michael, by the way, I’ve also created a TV show you might like’.” Future Scenarios: Senzon proposed bold ideas like AI-generated NFL games, sequels to beloved movies, and user-specific news programs, acknowledging the need for industry alignment, including Hollywood unions and IP rights. Personalized Recommendations: AMG's collaboration with Google on personalized recommendation engines aims to tailor content to individual preferences, enhancing user experience and engagement. As AI continues to evolve, its potential to create highly personalized, engaging, and innovative content will reshape the streaming landscape. Senzon's vision of an AI-powered future points to exciting possibilities, pushing the boundaries of what streaming can become. https://lnkd.in/emkYkWid

AI in the production workflows of creative media. The media and entertainment industry is facing unprecedented broadcast and video production challenges as a result of the growing number of platforms, including OTT streaming services, SVOD, FAST channels, social media, interactive content experiences, and traditional linear TV. These challenges are pushing the boundaries of traditional media processing. In order to overcome these obstacles, solutions that can handle the ingestion and delivery of new media are needed. These solutions must be able to handle various file formats, guarantee platform compatibility, and adhere to various quality, accessibility, and version standards. In addition, workflows must be able to streamline the process for quicker production and distribution with various partners. Using AI to develop storylines at the outset of the content creation process is one of the first examples of its innovative application. Data-driven insights are provided to enhance decision-making processes aimed at optimizing resource allocation, sponsors, and distribution. By incorporating AI into the storytelling process, creators can create engaging, emotionally rich narratives for their audiences.
