Play skills, language skills, and social skills often do not come naturally to autistic children. Exposure to social play opportunities is usually not enough to increase these skills on their own. Instead, systematically working on foundational skills in these areas (often with a large focus on language) will help them make progress a lot faster. But what does that look like and how can you work on these skills at home? 💻 We discuss practical and actionable play strategies to add to your parenting toolbox in our upcoming FREE parent webinar: The Power of Play: Nurturing Early Childhood Development Through Play-Based Learning for Children with Delays 📅 December 4 ⏲️ 5:30-6:30 PM (PST) / 8:30-9:30 PM (EST) 🔗 Click the link below to register and save your spot! https://bit.ly/497SZW6

A parent shares her son's journey. 💙 Emma said she first noticed Lucas struggling with reading when he was in Kindergarten. She explained that storytime led to frustration and tears. Lucas would say that the letters blinked on the page as he read. Emma thought back to that time, "Watching Lucas struggle was literally heartbreaking. He tried so hard, and the words just wouldn't come together for him." Lucas is now in Level 9 of the Barton Reading and Spelling Program. "Tutoring made learning accessible. It fills my heart to see his confidence grow - not just in reading - but in himself. Lucas is a different child," Emma shared. Emma's advice to other parents: "Never underestimate the power of belief and the right support. Our children are capable of incredible things." . . . #inspiringgrowth #youcan #literacymatters #readingjourney #mystory #dyslexia #parentalsupport #believeinyourself #successstories #educationforall #inspiringstories #dyslexiaawareness #parentingwin #dyslexiasupport #learningdifferences #parentingjourney #educationsupport #readingchallenge #childdevelopment #inspirationalstories

White letters on a black background can make a big difference for children with visual processing challenges. This contrast reduces distractions and enhances focus,.By minimizing visual clutter, children can concentrate better on tasks like letter formation and number writing. For educators and therapists, incorporating black-and-white materials into handwriting activities can be an effective way to support children who struggle with focus and visual perception. These small adjustments in presentation can significantly improve engagement and learning outcomes. #InclusiveLearning #VisualProcessing #ChildDevelopment #OccupationalTherapy #WritingSkills
