NEPRA, OGRA have been given autonomy in electricity, gas tariff decisions. Now the responsibility rests with OGRA to ensure that prices are cost reflective for investors and affordable to the consumers. It is needed that OGRA should take the challenge of developing renewable energy market and focus on development of biogas and biodiesel related projects on commercial basis as country's major economy is agriculture based that provides conducive environment for undertaking such projects and attracting potential investors. https://lnkd.in/eQERduyR

Biogas can play a significant role in the future UK energy system with technologies that are already well established. The REA Biogas steering group welcomes the new The Labour Party government and has set out a comprehensive action plan that will ensure resilient, longstanding support for the biogas sector. The REA’s Biogas steering Group is part of the REA Green Gas Forum, which has worked incessantly to overcome barriers to the development and operation of green gas plants and help shape Government policy to support green gases. We've set out what we believe are 5 key steps to kick-starting a viable market for green gas, enabling it to play a significant role in the decarbonisation of heat and transport, and supporting a circular economy in agriculture. https://lnkd.in/emzgChwz #Biogas #GreenGas #UKETS #AnaerobicDigestion

“To help solve our grid load dilemma, the U.S. could produce at least 166 terawatt hours of renewable electricity just with the methane captured from biogas projects and recycling our organic waste.” –Patrick Serfass, UtilityDive Magazine What are your thoughts on using biogas systems to convert waste into renewables? Do you see any immediate red flags when considering how to develop biogas tech to support the grid? Even if biogas isn't the answer, as growing demand for energy increases stress on our already strained power grid, innovative solutions (like Serfass’) are key to keeping things balanced. #GridStrain #GridCapacity #BioGas #FutureOfEnergy
America will need 500 TWh more power in 2028. This simple solution could help.

Three "easy to digest" pages from the REA articulating the key 'asks' of the #biogas sector. Headlines as follows (but worth reading in full!): 1. Introduce market-based support for biogas, to support the UK’s transition to net zero. 2. Recognition of the biogas sector and the benefits it can offer. 3. Alleviate planning, permitting and regulation barriers to growing the biogas sector. 4. Stimulate and incentivise biogas markets for all beneficial outputs. 5. Ensure proper and considered policy and governance alignment with other related policies (UK ETS, CBAM, NPT CO2, GGR) and governance mechanisms (UK-ETS, green investment, SFDR, ESG, carbon accounting etc). Future Biogas are leading the way with the development of their first AD #BECCS site at Gonerby Moor near Grantham, it will deliver 100+GWh of #unsubsidisedbiomethane and ~15kt of #biogenicCO2 per annum. Much more to come, our pipeline is bubbling away nicely! #regenerativeagriculture #anaerobicdigestion #carboncapture #decarbonisation #netzero

Resource recovery facilities play a key role in managing water resources sustainably. These plants not only help in wastewater treatment, but they also have the potential to produce biogas, a renewable energy source created through the breakdown of organic matter in an oxygen-free environment. Sewage is treated in anaerobic digesters where bacteria break down the organic matter to produce biogas, which is primarily composed of methane. This methane can be used as a fuel for electricity generation or heating. There are many advantages to producing biogas at resource recovery facilities. It can reduce the dependence on non-renewable fossil fuels that are associated with greenhouse gas emissions. Harvesting this renewable natural gas to support plant operations or augment the local utility grid is one of the many ways that wastewater treatment plants are becoming resource recovery facilities. Why water wash technology for biogas upgrading? Water wash technology is the most deployed biogas upgrading technology in the world. Water wash systems use counter-flow water to scrub away biogas impurities, without the need for chemicals or heat. Greenlane Cascade H2O biogas upgrading products: • remove high levels of hydrogen sulfide, volatile organic compounds, and siloxanes to meet pipeline specifications, without the need for pretreatment • operate in a closed loop to limit energy and water consumption • provide high methane recovery with high uptime • have no expensive overhaul of the upgrading media – it’s only water • are robust – will not be damaged by impurities • use proven technology that is still applicable today Learn about our Cascade H2O solution: https://bit.ly/3Wn8fu2 #biogasupgrading #waterwash #renewableenergy #RNG
