Today we're sharing a quick tip to make it easier to market your HR business... The method is good for generalist HR firms and consultants who don’t want to ‘niche down’ or specialize in a particular industry or sector. (By ‘HR’ we mean Generalist HR, Recruitment, Learning & Development, Employment Law, Compensation & Benefits, Diversity & Inclusion, Employee Engagement, etc). 👉 Here's the tip: Use 'buyer categories' to segment your target audience. (It's not a list of industries). 'Buyer categories' can be a short list of your main types of client contacts plus some background information to guide you. These buyer categories are more for your internal use than for external marketing but they can be helpful as all buyer categories are different and have different needs, pressures, and frustrations. For example, for Ben's HR consulting business, he had the following buyer categories: ✅ HR Professionals in Mid-Large Companies ✅ Business Owner ✅ Office Manager/Administration ✅ External Consultant To Companies ✅ Student ✅ Other Listen in to find out why he used these categories. He also explains how you can use your categories to help with the sales and marketing for your business. The full written article (plus video & audio versions) is available on the Get More HR Clients website and on the Podcast: A Better HR Business podcast.
