Change is coming. 👷♂️ With less red-tape and freedom for apprenticeship providers to transfer their levy. This inspired 530 employers including ASDA, HomeServe and BT Group pledging £35.39 million to support apprenticeships in businesses of all sizes. With apprenticeships, the more you put in, the more you get out. This is true for students, educators, and employers. This increased funding and collaboration is a step in that direction. The Prime Minister recently announced a major overhaul of the apprenticeship system in England, introducing a new growth and skills levy that will replace the existing levy. Key changes include funding for shorter, flexible apprenticeships and a focus on foundational apprenticeships to meet critical industry demands, making it easier for young people to gain essential skills. As more updates emerge from Skills England and the Department for Education, we’ll be available to help clients fully understand and leverage these opportunities. On top of the existing “guarantee” to meet demand amongst small and medium sized employers for apprenticeships, announced by government in March, the Conservative promise for an extra £900m leading to 100,000 more apprenticeships is very welcome. This sets a challenge to the other political parties to match this additional funding. Today's announcement would help meet demand for apprenticeships. They require the offer of a real job, so we still need to stimulate more demand among employers – especially SMEs. This requires proper incentives and more flexibility over the duration of apprenticeships and their content. Whichever party finds itself in government there will need to be a commitment to encouraging more employers offering apprenticeship opportunities. After all, if individual employers don’t step up, we will be failing the 900,000 young people not in employment, education or training. https://lnkd.in/eBQPmEHe

We need the apprenticeship allocation to be revealed sooner rather than later so that employers and training providers can start planning for this year. Last year, we waited a very long time for the allocation to be revealed and we do not want a repeat of this. Apprenticeships should be higher up on the priorities especially for the continued impact it has with young and mature people across Scotland. I agree with Stuart - things need to get progressed now as April is fast approaching and young people will soon be leaving school! #Apprenticeships #Funding #ApprenticeshipAllocation #Scotland #ModernApprenticeships #Clarity

Registered Apprenticeship came into being in 1937 with FDR and the New Deal. Apprenticeships are as old as time. A novice learning from a master how to accomplish tasks. Parents teach us how to walk, talk and hold utensils so we can eat with something other than our hands. Registered Apprenticeship is a novice learning from a master how to learn and accomplish tasks to teach us an occupation. Setting us on a path of success and careers that allow us to reach for other dreams. It also gives a Federal Certificate of Completion which is portable throughout the U.S. and many other countries. The world is moving at such a fast pace these days that Registered Apprenticeships are becoming a more common-sense answer for many people. It should be an acceptable alternative to traditional college. Registered Apprenticeships include an educational component which can lead to a college degree in the future while the apprentice makes money to pay bills and other necessities. Please let me know if you want to know more.
