This really resonated, Lynn Borton! Recently I participated in the #100DaysOfAI, learning something new about artificial intelligence each day and delighting in the exploration! It was thought-provoking, interesting, playful, and I got to create art, write fiction, conduct research, compile a portfolio, apply my learning in four design missions, all the while contemplating the vast implications of living alongside AI, especially as it relates to education. This journey of discovery will continue at my organization’s upcoming annual Symposium, where sessions, a pre-conference session and a keynote by Dr. Sabba Quidwai will examine the role and implications of AI in education. Curiosity continues to fuel my learning journey! Aurora Institute Max H.
Periodically I set myself a #curiosity theme and duration – 77 days of feet, a long hot summer of art, a month of biophilia, a week in the kitchen – and then I just keep my eyes open and my camera handy. It is very much in the spirit of what journalist and author Rob Walker would call “the art of #noticing.” It's thought-provoking, it's mind-opening, but mostly it's fun. The thrill of the hunt; the challenge and delight in finding something new in the very familiar; the excuse to get outdoors, whatever the weather; the visual puns; the surprisingly sentimental moments — all culled from the everyday world around me. I don't always get to meet in person all my Choose to Be Curious guests, so it was especially delicious to have a chance to chat and wander with Rob when I was in New Orleans a few weeks after we recorded this episode. I'm still tracking the cargo ship we watched maneuver up the Mississippi and you might spot a photo or two from NOLA in this week's social media... #attentioneconomy #surprise #theartofnoticing #TAoN #choosetobecurious https://lnkd.in/eh7TUd-A

Today I delivered a workshop on subpersonalities at Exhale Festival (tickets still available for you to watch the live sessions tomorrow and watch all the recorded sessions for three months - https://exhalehub.com/). Here's an exercise to do at home to get to know your subpersonalities and some questions to deepen your explorations→ Step 1 - find three objects around your space. These could be randomly selected or meaningful objects. Step 2 - ask yourself for each object, if this was a representation of/a metaphor for a version of me (aka a subpersonality), what part of me would it represent? You could explore... What does the shape/colour/texture/smell/size of this object say about this part of me? How does this object want to be held/examined, and what does that say about how this part of me wants to be interacted with? What do the differences between these objects say about the differences between my parts? Step 3 - explore your subpersonalities further through questions like... When does this part of me come up? How do I feel about this part? What does this part need to thrive? How could I nurture this part more? What is this part trying to do for me? (There's always something!) Is this part achieving this goal effectively? In dramatherapy we can explore your subpersonalities deeply by fleshing them out as full characters to be interacted with. We can have conversations with them, and facilitate conversations between them, so you can TRULY get to know yourself and become the empathetic director of all your parts.
