At companies like FANUC and USG, establishing employee resource groups is empowering women and other underrepresented groups. With an increasing number of women participating in STEM-focused programs, the manufacturing sector is witnessing a shift in perceptions, exemplified by leaders like Debra Basso and inspiring figures like Messa and Ullett. Their stories highlight the importance of hands-on experience and mentorship, encouraging the next generation to explore rewarding careers in a field traditionally dominated by men. #GrowTalentManagement #MidwestManufacturersGrowthNetwork #M&A2 https://lnkd.in/eMrmGWj

Manufacturing Month: The Impact of Women In 1943, during World War II, Rosie the Riveter rocked the slogan "We Can Do It!" and became the face of women stepping into traditionally male-dominated roles. Millions of women took on jobs in factories, shipyards, and manufacturing plants, showing just how crucial they were in shaping the future of manufacturing. Rosie represented women's pivotal role in transforming the manufacturing industry during a critical time in history. Today, that legacy lives on as women continue to be a driving force in manufacturing, from the factory floor to the C-suite. Women continue to make strides in this industry. Part of that has to do with different perspectives we bring that help to foster a cohesive work environment. Embracing "diversity of thought" as highlighted by Simon Sinek is key to thriving in manufacturing. Be open to different perspectives and challenges. #ManufacturingMonth #WomenInManufacturing #Diversity

Happy International Women's Day! Today, I want to celebrate the amazing women throughout the manufacturing industry including those I work alongside at SME — our staff, volunteer leaders on SME committees and boards, partners and members. Your drive, dedication, and impact are instrumental in shaping the future of manufacturing. Women are entering the manufacturing workforce at a faster pace than ever, helping manufacturers combat the industry’s talent shortage. In fact, a recent Xometry + Women in Manufacturing study reported more than 80% of women in the industry recommend a career in manufacturing. However, we still have a lot of work to do. So let's continue to support their careers, build relationships, and create a community where women can thrive. Together, we can transform women's roles in the manufacturing workforce. #InternationalWomensDay #WomenInManufacturing #WomeninMFG #IWD2024

It's manufacturing month and I'm feeling inspired. I was at the ElevateHer quarterly meeting on Tuesday, the CT Manufacturing Summit on Wednesday, and will be at the Women in Manufacturing (WIM) national summit next week. There's so much going on that it's hard to keep up. For that reason, I thought, why not share what I've learned? Here are some interesting articles. Take a look and let me know what you think. https://lnkd.in/efk-dCdY

This Women's History Month, we want to dive into the potential of women in U.S. manufacturing. Although women form nearly half the workforce, there's room to grow in labor roles, where they've been underrepresented since 1970. The exciting part? The future is bright with opportunities as we lean into #technology and champion S.T.E.M. education for young #women, paving the way for a more diverse and inclusive industry. #WomensHistoryMonth #Manufacturing Blog: Brief History of Women https://hubs.ly/Q02nsFgr0

Reflecting on the incredible experience of speaking at the Society of Women Engineers Conference, the world’s largest conference for women in engineering, has been deeply empowering. I once wondered if motherhood might hold back my career. Yet here I am, sharing my journey on balancing motherhood and engineering with so many inspiring women who face the same questions. Speaking on this topic felt powerful because it’s vital to keep the conversation going—how we support women who want to build their careers and their families. Every story, tip, and moment of connection at this conference showed just how important it is for women to see that thriving in both spheres is not only possible but sustainable. The journey doesn’t end here. We have more work to do to create environments that encourage women in STEM to stay, grow, and lead while honoring their lives outside the workplace. Here's to the future of engineering with thriving women leading the way. #WomenInEngineering #EngineeringAndMotherhood #WorkLifeBalance #Empowerment #WE24
