It's a good thing I know Nikki Pilkington because no-one else could get me to a comfortable, okay semi-comfortable, place of SEO adulting. I won't break out the champagne yet, but I have ticked the first 5 items off the checklist of her new non-wanky SEO course (I believe there's a wait list so best get on it!) I feel very bloody accomplished. So for the next week or two, I'm going to be sitting down to her clear video instruction and working through the things I know I need to... because I'd really love more people, to know more, about the magic I can create through nutrition. Starting something new ain't easy, but when you know and trust the person leading you down the path, it helps. So if you feel it's time for a little nutrition adulting, pop on over to my bio, or my website, and check out the simple ways we could work together. ▶ ▶ ▶ I'm Jill - your food-friendly nutrition coach. If I can adult around SEO, you can adult around nutrition.

A while ago, I helped Christian S. with his site about supplements and we got it to rank well. Even though it hasn't been maintained for a year now, it keeps going up. No secrets. There’s always a bit of luck and other factors, but the rest I will tell you about: ✨Honesty Tooltips, in-text paragraphs, disclaimers, everything clearly stated what users should be careful with. We actually didn't urge anyone to buy anything. Other sites in the same industry were making bold claims about the effectiveness of the supplements. We were not. Everything was based on scientific research that was linked across the pages. ✨Expert tips We looked for real doctors, who have an online presence and we reached out to them. We offered them to write an opinion of just a few sentences for the price of an online consultation with them. It worked because we didn't make them say anything they didn’t believe in. Quite the opposite - they could freely express if they think supplements just won’t work for a certain purpose. ✨ Unique content We investigated what usually confuses users and dedicated entire sections in the content just for this. For example, people frequently confuse probiotic genera, species, and strains. We paid attention to this in the text and also created infographics to make it more clear. The infographics are not fancy - they are literally made with Canva. And maybe most importantly… We didn't scale it up crazily. Each page took days, sometimes weeks to be created. 🤷♀️ We never sacrificed quality for quantity. Of course, since it's just a personal website made for fun and experimenting, there’s no business pressure. But sacrificing quality never ends well. #SEO #ContentSEO

MUST READ: How I NEVER LACK INSPIRATION to Write ENGAGING HEALTH Content It's a big deal. A very big deal. Knowing that every piece of content has the potential to inform, empower, and improve someone's health journey. 🌱 I mean, a person can read my content and literally make a decision that affects their lives! That is a lot of influence - and a lot of responsibility! This is why I do not joke with my writing process. I cannot do a job without giving my best.... because my best is what my readers deserve! Here’s how I stay inspired and give my best: ✨ Lifelong Learning: Healthcare is constantly evolving, and I find inspiration in staying up-to-date with new research and advancements. Sometimes, going through papers, blogs, and organizations at the forefront of research gives me inspiration. It reminds me that there's always more to learn, which fuels my passion for creating accurate, informative content. I sometimes have to step out of my comfort zone. I remember working with a Nutrition company earlier this year. Of course, I had written about diets, food and all in the past. But this was different. It was more detailed, researched-focused, and quality pieces. As a doctor, there is this part of you that cringes when someone tells you that one diet can solve almost all your health problems from the nervous system, to the skin, the reproductive system, the GI and even Cancer! Come on now! Or when someone is suggesting a solution that is not evidence-based. I never want to be counted among such. But I also opened myself to learning... And as I would always ask my client, what does the research say? Of course, this took me longer hours, I would compare notes with stuff we were taught in Med school and Pubmed, Google Scholar and co. I learnt new things, modified some of what I had known and discarded some, while also confirming things I always knew were correct. Just so you know, no diet can solve all health problems. When you see stuff like that online, someone's marketer told them to say those things! ✨ Connecting with Readers: I always think about who my audience is and how the content can make a real impact. Whether it's helping someone understand a diagnosis or guiding them to make healthier lifestyle choices, knowing that my words make a difference keeps me going. Having a Persona always makes a difference here! Always does!! It helps you to be laser-focused, and write with your reader in mind. Would they love this? Would this challenge them? Would this offend them? ✨ Personal Reflection: I take time to reflect on my own health journey and those close to me. This personal connection to the subject helps me approach my writing with empathy and authenticity. Ctd in the comments...

You see, writing blog post for search engines has been my favorite things to do. I've been writing blog post articles for Google for the past decade. Writing blog posts for SEO (or search engines) has changed completely. One example; Most times website owners and SEOs think about one headline per post. One question per blog post. That is not the case today. Topic cluster is super helpful in SEO writing today. And this is why I don't like using the TERM "blog post" - I PREFER "SEO Blog Page". Let me explain… Let's assume I am writing a post on "The Definitive Guide to Weight Loss". Rather than writing a post on either of these; - the best with loss drugs, or, - medicine and supplement for weight loss... I would create an entire SEO blog page like: "The Definitive Guide to Weight Loss: Everything You Need to Know". The post will answer these questions; - most effective with loss programs, - best weight loss drugs, - weight loss medicine, - best weight loss supplements, - the best type of exercise for weight loss, - best products, - best diet, - good foods to eat for losing diet, - is a ketogenic diet before loss and many more. Got it?
