Excited to share that I've received my Project Management Professional Certification from Project Management Institute! Having been a Project & Program Manager for nearly 10 years, this was one of my P0 goals to achieve in 2024. I'm so excited to bring this expanded expertise in Agile & Project Management to my professional and personal endeavors! If you're taking the #PMP soon or thinking of taking it, here's what I used to score "Above Target" on my very first try: 💭 Andrew Ramdayal 's PMP Preparation Guide & 35hr course: It gets straight to the point of the key terms, processes, and most importantly the PgM "mindset". 💭 Project Management Institute Study Hall: Focus on the practice questions, and the mock exams. 💭 David McLachlan 's PMP questions on YouTube: Perfect for on-the-go studying and how to think through the questions. The best tip I learned was to *not* take the exam based on what you would do at the companies you've worked in. Focus on the methodology and you'll be set from there. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the exam or Project / Program Management! #PMP #ProjectManagement #ProgramManagement #Agile #goalgetter

After countless “Am I ready yet?” moments, some serious caffeine-fueled cramming, and several pep talks in the mirror, I took on the PMP exam. Four hours later, I walked out with a big grin (and maybe a sigh of relief), scoring “Above Target” in every domain! Now, my PMP certification proudly joins my agile-focused team of credentials. Proof that, whether it’s waterfall, agile, or the occasional dash to the deadline, I’m ready to tackle project management from any angle.

PMP Certified Training: Project Management Professional Certification Lecture 2 #pmp #gotocertify In this lecture, I explored the fundamentals of project management methodologies, differentiating between agile and predictive approaches based on the complexity of projects. I explained that agile is suitable for projects requiring iterative and incremental development, while predictive approaches are better for projects with a clear, single delivery path. I introduced the concept of project life cycles, especially within IT projects, detailing how projects can be delivered in distinct phases—ranging from requirements to design, development, testing, and launching—or as a single comprehensive iteration, contingent on the project's specific requirements. I highlighted the importance of understanding various project delivery strategies, including how phases can either progress sequentially or in parallel, and the incremental approach that focuses on delivering functional features progressively to build the final product. My discussion emphasized agile project management as a methodology that is both iterative, allowing for continuous refinement and development of project features, and incremental, supporting the gradual build-up of the project's components. This approach enables adaptability to changes and continuous improvement. Lastly, I touched on the significant shift in the Project Management Institute's (PMI) 7th edition of the PMBOK Guide towards a principle and domain-based approach that prioritizes the human aspects of project management. I stressed the importance for project managers to develop effective leadership skills, anticipate and manage risks, and tailor communication strategies to meet the diverse needs of the project and team members. #ProjectManagement, #AgileMethodology, #PredictiveApproach, #ProjectLifeCycle, #IncrementalDevelopment, #PMI, #PMBOK7thEdition, #LeadershipSkills, #RiskManagement, #TeamDynamics, #ProjectDeliveryStrategies, #IterativeDevelopment, #ProjectPhases https://lnkd.in/ed6wziqS

I’m thrilled to share that I have started journey in attending PMP/CAPM courses and my first course is Introduction to Professional Project Management PMP/CAPM at Roasover platform The most important thing I learned in my first course is that Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements. Project management refers to guiding the project work to deliver the intended outcomes. Project teams can achieve the outcomes using a broad range of approaches (e.g., predictive, hybrid, and adaptive). - Distinguish between different project management methodologies and approaches: * Predictive * Iterative * Incremental * Agile * Hybrid - Business & strategy context - Project Manager Role - The Project Management Processes - Product Vision

I'm officially a PMP once again! The exam has changed dramatically in 10 years… Having taken the PMP exam in 2014 and 2024, I found it interesting how much had changed: The exam in 2014 was based on traditional/predictive project management and was mostly objective and computational. Calculating Earned Value Management metrics, drawing an Activity-on-Node (AON) Network Diagram, and calculating the Critical Path Method were a large portion of the exam. But the 2024 exam was mostly based on the Agile project management approach and the vast majority of questions were subjective/situational with only a small fraction that was computational/objective. Given the new nature of the exam, many questions involved situations with more than one right answer, but you had to select the “best” among plausibly correct answers. All of that to say, I'm thankful to have passed the exam and to have expanded my project management knowledge base!

I’m proud to share that I’ve recently earned my Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from the Project Management Institute (PMI). With over 23 hours of dedicated project management education and successfully passing the PMI’s certification exam, I’ve gained a strong foundation in key areas including project initiation, planning, execution, agile project management, and real-world application of project management principles. The CAPM certification equips me to manage a wide range of projects, utilizing methodologies that encompass predictive project management, agile frameworks, and business analysis techniques. I’m looking forward to applying these skills throughout the remainder of my studies and after my graduation next year. #projectmanagement #CAPM #agile #businessanalysis #personaldevelopment #leadership
