✅ To-do: Live in the moment. ❌ Don’t do: Jump to the next thing. There’s a time and a place for forward-thinking. As humans, we’re geared to answer “What’s next?” But instantly setting your eyes on the horizon to find the next best thing doesn’t belong when you’ve just had a win. Pause. Relish it. I know even in my business, whether I’ve had a successful campaign or client workshop, I tend to go into future-proof mode and think about what’s next on my plate without enjoying and digesting the last, delicious meal I just ate. I know being present in our careers and celebrating wins is easier said than done. You might not want to celebrate in fear that failure lies around the next corner. Or maybe you’re eager to replicate your success. But by pausing and celebrating your wins as they come, you can: - Uncover what made the win successful and reapply it in new opportunities. - Overcome failures more easily by remembering everything you’ve accomplished and exactly what you’re capable of. So, this week, what’s something you’d like to celebrate in your career? 💻 In my newest blog, I share 2 other lessons that can help you rise to the top in your leadership and career: https://lnkd.in/gVcePgRp

What an incredible start to our FY25 - 1st quarter #HROD all-hands meeting at Jacksonville Transportation Authority ☺️ Our Human Resources and Organizational Development team came together under the inspiring theme of "Fixed versus Growth Mindset." It was a day filled with insight and empowerment. We explored how embracing a GROWTH mindset is essential to overcome adversity and failures. By fostering this attitude, we continue to forge our path to greatness and success as a team. The lively discussions, interactive session, and shared stories resonated with everyone, reminding us all to be open, to learn, and to thrive together. It's this mindset that paves the way for innovation and resilience. A heartfelt thank you to each of you who have contributed to our positive and dynamic culture. Celebrating our team's anniversaries was a highlight, including my own three-year anniversary at JTA. 🎉 Time truly flies when you're part of a dedicated and passionate team! A special thank you to our Executive #LEADER Cleveland Ferguson III, J.D., D.H.L. for taking time out of his busy schedule to join the team…it was truly appreciated! I’ve been reflecting lately and realized that I’ve always been apart of top five winning organizations in their industries and have been able to inspire change and innovate processes in many of these organizations I’ve been apart of. From being able to train top District General Managers to be successful, to promoting and helping the enterprise attain enterprise growth strategies beyond the level of growth expected nationally and internationally, and train and developing top talent to not only grow in each of those companies but to flourish in the careers in other roles as well. Sometimes you have to reflect and thank yourself for the accomplishments you have achieved and keep note of them. A previous leader of mine said; you’ve accomplished so many things however sometimes you need to slow down and keep record of those accomplishments to be able to speak more about all of the great things you’ve done in your tenure to show how much impact you’ve made. I guess the advice I would have for future leaders is to always keep track of the amazing things you’ve done and to celebrate them. No one knows how much sleepless nights, strategies, and passion went into what you done to help grow your industries and how that impact affects so many people.

When was the last time you took a moment to pause and reflect on your recent wins? We get so caught up in the hustle and bustle, constantly striving for what’s next. Spending time wishing for things we don’t have. And, when we finally achieve them, we don’t take a moment to celebrate. Today - we change that. This is an invitation — to pause and reflect on your recent wins both BIG and small. What achievements have you made? How are they contributing to your journey? Take a moment to add it to your calendar 🗓️ on Monday morning so you start your week with an inspiring reminder of how far you’ve come. And why stop there? Consider adding a recurring 10-minute reflection block every Friday. A simple system to help you end each week on a high note. As inspiration, here are a few things that my clients celebrated in September: 🎉 an entrepreneur surpassed year end revenue goals 3 months early (since regularly taking Friday afternoons off) 🎉 a VP who wanted to increase her leadership influence beyond her role and company was appointed to a prominent external committee 🎉 a founder & CEO booked his first 2 week vacation in 5 years 🎉 an SVP transitioned into an EVP role and now, 6 months later, has exceeded their targets, while significantly increasing the team’s engagement and retention scores What are you celebrating this week?

Discover the 5 key success factors that make Ol’ Santa a better manager than you or me ! Let’s take a cue from Santa Claus, one of the most reliable benchmarks we can think of. He is a charismatic leader, respected authority, and manages a stable team of top performers. Here are the 5 key success factors that make Ol’ Santa a better manager than you or me 👉Clear personal branding: Everybody knows what Santa stands for. He is consistent and predictable, which is a major characteristic followers look for in a manager. People know exactly what Santa expects from them and what they can expect from Santa. 👉Early mover: Despite his age, Santa always comes up with the newest inventions, gifts, and gadgets, and thus adopts new technologies fast. 👉Team of experts: To produce the number of toys required to fill every child’s wish list, it is essential that Santa’s Workshop runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Like any good factory, Santa’s elves have to specialize to maximize quality and efficiency. Everyone cannot be an expert at everything, so it is critical to develop teams of specialists. 👉Set expectations: Santa is really clear about what he expects from others. He expects people to behave with integrity and make ethical choices, and rewards you when you do. Great leaders are able to articulate and model the behaviors they want to see in others, and respond appropriately when it doesn’t happen. 👉Give the underdog the chance to be a hero: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was an outcast until Santa recognized that his glowing nose could serve as a guiding light for his team of reindeer who were struggling to see through the fog. So, how do you compare to Santa and what makes him so successful? 🎅🎁🎄Let's go to Chistmas ! #leadership #manager #christmas #santaclaus

Success deserves celebration. Taking the time to celebrate achievements, big or small, not only acknowledges hard work but also motivates and inspires continued effort and dedication. This is especially true if you're a leader of a company or a team. Recognizing the success of hitting a corporate revenue goal: ➡ Shows your team you notice them ➡ Elevates the sales, marketing, and ops teams who made it happen ➡ Shows the employees that you're paying attention to the details of their actions, not just numbers. ➡ It reinforces the value of the journey and the effort invested. ➡ Creates an environment where achievement is valued. What are you celebrating this month? — I'm John Cole. I work with business owners, entrepreneurs, and top-sales professionals to make sure their money works way harder than they ever do. Stick around for the journey. 🔔 Follow me and ring the bell in my profile to see my posts ✅ Reach out to me

I am elated to share that The Toro Company will be represented at the NSBE Professionals | National Society of Black Engineers in Atlanta by Kevin Carpenter, VP Global Operations & Integrated Supply Chain. To hear from Kevin we encourage you to attend the Navigating Your Career As a Black Professional panel on March 21 at 2:30 pm. You can also find Kevin throughout the event - He enjoys human connection 😊. In fact, to learn more about him, keep reading... Q: Tell me about your journey to become a senior executive in the integrated supply chain field? A: My career journey can be divided into four main phases: engineering and operations leadership, design engineering and management, product and program leadership, and executive operations and engineering. Each role provided me with a solid foundation across various functional areas within the supply chain, preparing me to manage its complexities effectively. Progression felt natural due to this foundation and training. Q: Share with me about the biggest obstacle you have faced in your professional career and how you conquered it. A: One significant obstacle I faced occurred when I joined a company in a leadership role and much of my team has moved on shortly after. Despite this challenging situation, I persevered by immersing myself in the work, assembling a new team, and introducing more efficient work practices. Through hard work and resilience, I overcame the obstacle, gaining valuable insights into commitment and problem-solving along the way. Q: What are your dreams and hopes for young professionals? A: My hope is for young professionals to realize their destinies by identifying their purpose early on. It's crucial to focus on vision, embrace hard work, anticipate mental challenges, and maintain patient impatience. Fulfillment comes from aligning with one's destiny, and I wish that for them. Q: What makes you laugh? A: I find laughter in engaging with people and experiencing the human connection. It's rewarding and magical, contributing positively to my soul. Both at work and in personal interactions, laughter enriches my life. Q: If I got a hold of your phone, whose number would I want to copy and why? A: You'd want to copy the numbers of my children, Kevin Jr. and Layah, as they are my greatest inspiration. Their presence motivates me every day, and I believe everyone should experience such profound inspiration. Being a father is my greatest accomplishment, and they embody the best of what I aspire to be. #thetorocompany #NSBE50 #techcareers
