Have you ever considered not giving gifts this Christmas? 🎁 We're not talking about your close family gifts, but the ever-increasing gifts to friends, extended family and colleagues. 😱 Obliged giving can be unnecessary, expensive and can create an obligation for the recipient to give back, when they may not be able to afford it! For some, the gift of "not obliging you to buy for me" is actually better. 😊 If you don't want to be the one to suggest this with friends, why not at least agree to a Secret Santa for £5 - £10 to ease the financial pressure! 👍 Follow us for all our advent Christmas spending money saving tips! 🎅 #christmas #adventcalendar #moneysavingtips #familyfinances

Can you relate? 🤣😬 Here's how to deal with anxiety around calling donors. ⬇️ The way to avoid anxiety is to: 1. Know what your donor is passionate about and interested in and be ready to present offers and ways for them to give that align. 2. Be prepared. Know how their gift is making a difference, and know where their money will go. 3. Use permission-based asking! Asking is a regular part of a major gift fundraiser’s life – or at least it should be. Whether you’re ready to ask for “the big gift” or you’re just looking for a next step, you want the conversation to go well. We have a FREE White Paper, "How to Use Permission-Based Asking™ with Donors" that covers this entire process from start to finish. Using this process, you'll have a lot less anxiety and your next phone call with a donor will go much smoother! Interested? Click here: https://lnkd.in/ec4Kk46C

National Make-A-Will Month Kicks Off Today! It should be a national holiday, with banks and markets closed. You should be home right now celebrating, not working. Until proper recognition arrives, I’ll use this month to share my "18 Reasons Why Wills Are The Way To Launch Your Planned Giving." Here are reasons 1-3: 1. Wills are the most popular planned gift, by far. Expect 75-90 percent of your planned gifts to be in wills. They're the low-hanging fruit. 2. You don’t need to educate your potential donors. Nearly everyone knows what a will is, how a will works, and that they need one. 3. You don’t have to educate your staff before they can have convos with your donors. Ditto. That’s our kickoff! Please party responsibly during this weekend’s National Make-A-Will Month celebrations near you. I wish you a good (safe) weekend.

In these challenging economic times… The spirit of giving is needed more than ever. Inflation has crept up, significantly increasing the cost of gifts and affecting our ability to spread joy. Check out the prices of just a few childhood favorites… A Barbie Doll with Accessories now costs $34. For the same price, one could feed a family of 4. A Two-Wheel Scooter with a Helmet now costs $55. The same amount fills the gas tank of a small sedan. A Hot Wheels Track with a Car now costs $57. This amount could also cover the internet bill. These price points may seem small to some, but to others, they represent a difficult choice. Your donation can bridge the gap inflation has created. Every contribution, big or small, helps fulfill an individual's wish. Let’s come together to keep the magic of giving alive and spread some joy this holiday season!
