How the Engagement Triangle can boost your productivity Last week I spoke at Professional Speaking Association East Midlands Speaker Factor event. My chosen topic was The Engagement Triangle (see picture below). The Engagement Triangle is a model I created to help businesses boost productivity, retain employees, build solid relationships with customers, lead using the latest techniques and create a resilient workforce. The Speaker Factor event was awesome but there could only be one winner. I think my fellow entrants (Gary Parsons, Emily Haslam-Jones Ben Catley-Richardson) and I can agree that Katie Allen blew us away with her speech and thoroughly deserved to win the event and be put forward to represent us in the Regional competition. I will be honest with you..... It was a little scary 😓 definitely overwhelming 😓 This was my first government procurement conference as an attendee. There were: 45 government agencies 240 exhibitor booths And a fully packed conference agenda 💥The exhibit hall was 128,000 square feet!!!💥 This was unlike any other conference I had attended. Why? I was not speaking at this conference - comfort zone Neither was this a typical HR/OD conference that I usually attend - comfort zone As they say growth comes from pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone. And the best part is..... ⚡I teach this concept 💡I coach my clients on this concept ⚡Many of my clients have experienced phenomenal growth Last week it was my turn to: - experience discomfort - navigate a new situation - that initially was overwhelming I took a step back: - reminded myself, I have prepped for this - took several deep breathes - reassessed and reprioritized - took periodic breaks - sought advice from some seasoned attendees - reminded myself, "Mindset Matters" and it can make or break you! The outcome... As I continue my journey towards a master’s in Organizational Leadership, I’m excited to share that my current class on Social and Cultural Perspectives has been incredibly enlightening.
