Heraclitus felt war is a creative tension that brings things into existence... Whether or not you agree, it's impossible to deny its influence in history... especially the Peloponnesian War. But first, why was this war greater than the Persian war? Why was Thucydides the very best man to record it? And what are the very relevant lessons we can glean from this momentous point in history that can help us understand our modern predicaments and conflicts? Read here enjoy today’s article, an excellent introduction to the History of the Peloponnesian War: https://lnkd.in/dxzVzHxy

Tawfeeq is the Arabic word for divine providence. Finding the Washington History Seminar's Youtube channel and this webinar, "I Saw Death Coming," feels like tawfeeq to me because I often feel I am on a long journey to better understand this country I love and the awful things it has done and continues to do. For me, I know this much, it is not the country itself that inspires my love, but its best people, the people who have fought with words and arms to protect the basic rights of others and to quell or remediate the worst acts of her citizens. https://lnkd.in/g2DtWm62

https://lnkd.in/d-M9SNjQ Important to watch, not only because it explains very clearly and factually the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict (TL;DR: the Arabs want to kill the Jews and the Jews don't let them, how annoying) but it exposes the bias, distortion of facts, and false information, that the Geo History "documentary" uses to push it's anti-Israel agenda. I highly recommend all the videos by this guy, https://lnkd.in/d2Kyn83a. They are all fact-based and provide important information about the Jews, Israel, the Arab world, antisemitism, the roots of the October 7 massacre and the threat that radical Islam and its terrorist messengers pose to world peace and the Western civilization.
Geo History is 55% WRONG about the Arab-Israeli Conflict

In summary, while it is accurate to characterize some actions taken by the Pequots as retaliatory in nature, it is also essential to understand these within the larger framework of colonial aggression and violence. The disparities in military power and tactics between the Pequots and English settlers led to a conflict where retaliatory actions from Indigenous tribes were met with overwhelming force from colonists. This context helps clarify why subsequent conflicts continued to reflect similar patterns of brutality and why Indigenous resistance was often met with harsh reprisals from European settlers. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for a comprehensive view of colonial history and its impact on Native American societies.
