For this music video I use ai image and video creation tools to create the different scenes. I then edited the clips together and did my best to sync them with the music. Give it a watch and listen. In the world of film and media, every sound carries meaning. But what if there was a way to evoke emotions so raw and unexpected that your audience feels as though time and space are bending? This is exactly what my microtonal compositions try to achieve. Microtonal music involves using notes outside of the traditional 12-note scale found in most Western music. While it can often sound dissonant, my approach strips away that discord by focusing on the familiar harmonies we all know, but with a twist. Imagine a C major chord, but between the usual C and C# lies a C half-sharp – a tiny change that shifts the emotional impact in ways you won’t expect. The result? Chord changes that evoke feelings like vertigo, catharsis, and even a trippy, dreamlike state. In projects like Den Mother Crimson (2025), I used Wendy Carlos’ Gamma scale, featuring 34 notes per octave, to build an immersive world without even touching traditional octaves. The effect was mesmerizing – a unique harmonic structure that reinforced the film’s eerie, otherworldly tone. For music supervisors and producers, this technique opens a whole new world of emotional depth. Whether you're working with hip-hop, orchestral scores, or rock, microtonal shifts can give your project a distinct edge. It’s an innovative, genre-independent tool that unlocks moods and atmospheres no traditional scale can provide. 🤩 You’ve heard the Speak & Spell. You’ve heard circuit-bent Speak & Spell. But are you ready to open a Hellmouth of total destructive speech chaos based on combining those into a massively powerful groovebox? Ready or not, it’s here in the form of the Australian-built Glitch&Drum 1 Touch, aka GND-1T. Despite that prominent “Speak & Glitch” logo on the front, this is really a new digital instrument that incorporates elements of circuit-bent Speak & Spell hardware together with a complete digital drum machine/groovebox.
