We recently had the privilege of hosting a webinar in partnership with Innovation Forum, where we were joined by representatives from two of our Founding Partners. Emily Kunen from PepsiCo and Martin Huxtable from Unilever shared their insights on the real-world applications of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) and how companies can collaborate to achieve long-term and scalable sustainable impact. The discussion centered on protecting and restoring forests, as well as the necessity of collective action, innovative financing models, and long-term commitments to build resilient supply chains and ecosystems. Key highlights from Sustainable Supply Chain Conference 2024 🌍 The recent Sustainable Supply Chain Conference hosted by Logistics Manager Magazine, brought together an array of industry leaders to discuss the impact of sustainability. The event, kicked off with editor Emily Uwemedimo, highlighting some of the key supply chain sustainability strategies currently, including decarbonisation and the circular economy. She also emphasised the importance of collaboration and innovation in achieving a sustainable future. In the morning, Khanh Mach, Sustainability Specialist at Quorn Foods talked about the importance of engaging employees in sustainability objectives and how they themselves had achieved this. Jacquie Silvester BA Hons (Open), head of sustainability at The Cotswold Company, highlighted the need for prioritising sustainability in boardroom. Especially as 89% of investors consider ESG and 41% of consumers prefer sustainable products. She acknowledged the challenge of balancing profitability with environmental goals but stressed the importance of preserving natural ecosystem. Throughout the rest of the day panel discussions explored AI’s transformative role in sustainable supply chains, highlighted the challenges of greenwashing and emphasised the need for transparency and effective communication in sustainability efforts. Experts from various sectors shared insights on balancing cost with sustainability, the value of open communication, and the importance of aligning logistics partners with sustainability goals. Overall, the conference underscored the need for ongoing innovation and collaboration to advance sustainability in supply chains, promoting economic resilience and environmental stewardship.
