Lead with Empathy, Not Just Authority Jason Miller’s Be Good, Be Brief, Be Gone makes a strong case for leading through understanding. The quote “When you understand what is at the core of your team members, you can serve them and allow them to reach their full potential” shows that leadership is more about empathy than power. Miller’s advice is clear: get to know what motivates each person on your team. When you do, you can support them in ways that matter and help the whole team grow together. The real-world tips make it easy to apply these lessons to your leadership style. Can humility undermine your impact as a leader? Humble leadership is characterized by a willingness to admit a mistake or when you don’t know something, a tendency to share credit for successes, and an appreciation for others’ contributions. This leadership style is built on self-awareness, respect for others, and a focus on collective over individual success. But being overly humble can potentially diminish your perceived authority in three ways: 1) You may be perceived as indecisive 2) You may hinder your career advancement 3) You may be limiting your team’s development. In this HBR article the author offers advice on how to navigate these challenges while preserving the benefits of this leadership style. #ExecutiveCoach #LeadershipDevelopment https://buff.ly/430Jfde

Mastering leadership is an ongoing commitment, an ever-evolving journey rather than a final destination. Leadership is marked by constant change, the need to adapt to evolving challenges, and the continuous growth of those being led. Leaders who understand that they never truly “master” leadership remain open to learning, personal development, and innovation. They embrace the fact that their role is not to have all the answers but to inspire, guide, and empower their team, all while humbly acknowledging that leadership is a lifelong pursuit of knowledge, self-improvement, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. ~C xx #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipcoaching

A good read from Harvard Business Review and a little more about one of the core areas of great leadership: Being Future Focused. Many leaders get so caught up in the day-to-day that they don't take the time to look ahead. And when they do, they often don't know where to start. The very first thing I recommend is for someone to take a step back and look at their organization's vision and strategic plan and look at where might be gaps they need to fill. #leadershipdevelopment #coaching #emergingwomenleaders https://lnkd.in/gMYr6Tms

Even though it's easy to say it, how difficult it is to put those into practice... Sooner or later, we will all be exposed to being a guide and leading a team knowing absolutely nothing about how to do it. The belief that the way we have been taught is the only one available is not true. One must explore their own way of leadership that makes them feel comfortable. In leadership, motivation is the catalyst for team achievement. Show, don't just tell, by leading through action. Recognize and celebrate the efforts of your team members to foster a positive environment. These simple practices should be embedded in everyone's routine to become a good leader. While some may view training others as a burdensome duty, it's essential to reframe this perspective. Consider it a profound demonstration of trust from your leadership group. They've entrusted you with the crucial responsibility of shaping incoming individuals into the best versions of themselves. Recognize that you're not just imparting knowledge but also aligning with your leadership's vision and guidance for fostering growth and excellence within the team. Embrace this opportunity to contribute to the collective success and development of both individuals and the organization as a whole. True leadership isn't about power; it's about empowering others. As leaders, we're privileged with the opportunity to mentor, guide, and train someone to reach their fullest potential. Embrace this responsibility with humility and dedication. #MondayMotivation #Leadership #Mentorship

Discovering Authentic Leadership | During the past 50 years, leadership scholars have conducted more than 1,000 studies in an attempt to determine the definitive styles, characteristics, or personality traits of great leaders. None of these studies has produced a clear profile of the ideal leader. If scholars had produced a cookie-cutter leadership style, individuals would be forever trying to imitate it. They would make themselves into personae, not people, and others would see through them immediately. No one can be authentic by trying to imitate someone else. You can learn from others’ experiences, but there is no way you can be successful when you are trying to be like them. People trust you when you are genuine and authentic, not a replica of someone else.
