If you find yourself “getting into the weeds” and aren’t sure how to get out, stop talking and say something like: “I’m realizing that where I’m going isn’t necessary. Let’s move on…” “I love this topic, so it’s easy for me to say too much. Let’s move on…” “Although important, you don’t actually need to know this right now. What questions can I answer about what we’ve covered?” #communicatebetter #communicationskills #communicationtips #communicationskillstraining

When you step onto a stage, especially for a keynote or a TED Talk, there’s an invisible barrier that often forms between you and your audience. It’s unintentional, but it happens. You’re already seen as separate, elevated, or untouchable. But here’s the thing: the real magic of impactful speaking lies in making that separation vanish. Imagine standing in front of a massive crowd and making each person feel like you’re having a one-on-one conversation with them. It’s a concept I shared in Part 1 of our LinkedIn Live, and in Part 2 on December 13 at 3 PM EST, David Goldberg and I will take this idea even deeper. We’ll explore how to connect authentically with your audience, using techniques like vocal variety and intentional delivery, so your message truly resonates. This isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being present. It’s about transforming every word you speak into a bridge between you and your listeners. Curious to learn more? Catch us live as we uncover insightful ways to elevate your speaking style and create moments that your audience will remember long after the event ends. Drop a comment if this resonates with you, and don’t forget to mark your calendar for December 13 at 3 PM EST. Let’s make the stage disappear, together. 😊 #YaronaBoster #PublicSpeaking #CommunicationSkills #SpeakingTips #EffectiveCommunication #LeadershipDevelopment #PresentationSkills #ProfessionalGrowth #SpeakerTraining #LinkedInLive #VocalVariety

I hope your focus was on my message, not on the brinjal (or eggplant). The authenticity of the green leaves and the purple brinjal was superseding my one-liner on authenticity and staying true to oneself. Many times, we make this mess trying to decorate our background or items around us while we are on an online meeting, especially when we are speaking. I can't even imagine speaking to my clients while playing hide and seek with the brinjal. To derive valuable lessons from my rejected video, I have FIVE key takeaways for us all to keep in mind: 1. Visual Clarity Supports Verbal Message: Ensure that visual elements do not overshadow or distract from the verbal message. The prominence of the brinjal plant in my video serves as a reminder that visuals should enhance, not detract from, the main point. 2. Focus on the Speaker: The audience needs to see and connect with the speaker to fully engage with the message. Ensure that we, as the speaker, are clearly visible and central in the frame. 3. Audience Perception: Always consider how our audience will perceive both the content and the presentation. What might seem like an interesting or natural backdrop to us could be a distraction to them. 4. Simplify Visuals: Keep visual elements simple and relevant. Complex or dominant visuals can pull attention away from the message. 5. Feedback and Adjustment: Use feedback from viewers to understand how our message is being received and make adjustments as needed. Continuous improvement is key to effective communication. By incorporating these lessons, we can enhance the impact of our communication, ensuring that our message is received clearly and effectively. Did you know that HOW you say something matters 5 TIMES more than WHAT you say? Vocal variety—those subtle changes in pitch, pace, and tone—can turn a bland talk into a memorable experience. It’s the difference between a speaker who simply delivers information and one who moves their audience to action. But let’s be honest—finding your voice isn’t always easy. I know I’ve struggled with moments where my voice didn’t match the message I wanted to share. And yet, the power to captivate is something we all have, if we’re willing to hone it. On December 13 at 3 PM EST, David Goldberg and I will explore this in-depth during "𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝟮: 𝟳 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗧𝗢 𝗦𝗮𝘆 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴" on LinkedIn Live. We’ll uncover how to use your voice to not just speak but to inspire, connect, and resonate. Want a sneak peek? Here’s your homework: Next time you speak to someone, notice how your tone shifts when you’re excited, nervous, or trying to convince someone. What’s your voice saying that your words aren’t? Let’s talk about it live. 🎙️ #YaronaBoster #PublicSpeaking #CommunicationSkills #SpeakingTips #EffectiveCommunication #LeadershipDevelopment #PresentationSkills #ProfessionalGrowth #SpeakerTraining #LinkedInLive #VocalVariety

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵 🕰️ In a world of noise, the pause holds the key. It's not just a break in speech, it's a powerful tool of impact. 🎯 → The strategic pause: a deliberate silence that captivates attention and adds depth to your message. → The reflective pause: a moment of quiet that invites engagement and reflection from your audience. → The restorative pause: a pause to gather thoughts and refocus, essential for effective communication. In the symphony of communication, remember the power of pause. Embrace it, wield it, let it amplify your words. 📢 #PowerOfPause #SilenceSpeaks #CommunicateWithImpact

😬 Let's face it -- for many people, giving presentations can be a pain sometimes. We need to ask ourselves why that's the case. For some people, it's the fear of public speaking. For others, it's the fact that they feel like they're talking to a brick wall when they give a presentation. These are all excuses that have simple solutions. It's time to leave those behind and focus on eliminating the noise and making your ideas as succinct and compact as possible to save time and energy for everyone -- yourself included. "Does anyone have any questions?" I dread this prompt and I think it's a poor way to close a presentation. Am I guilty of this? Absolutely! Crickets following a presentation is not the lasting mark I wanted to leave with my audience. So, I decided to pivot. I am someone who likes to sit with new information and form my thoughts over time. As a result, my questions often come later - usually during the application of whatever knowledge that was dispelled. With that in mind, I adjusted my presentations. Some of my best ending prompts looked like this: "Most frequently, people ask me these follow-up questions... Is there any topic I haven't covered that you would like to know more about?" "We are running a little short on time, but I have a downloadable one-sheet with our FAQs. If that sheet does not answer your questions, you can reach me here..." "I love when people follow up with me. Please follow me here for additional content and feel free to DM questions..." By adding a couple of FAQs to the end of my presentations, I gained engagement from the audience as the questions put the audience in a state of application mindset. And I received the greatest audience feedback when I was able to respond to questions live. What do you appreciate the most when absorbing new information from a live speaker? #publicspeaking #engagement #nodumbquestions #traction #askingtherightquestions
