Global Human Resources and Talent Acquisition Leader

💭 My Friday musings... Thought food: 1) Even with more momentum in the market, I am still seeing HR and Talent Acquisition folks experience layoffs en mass. 2) Someone told me this week, 'Well, it's not a buyer's market' (regarding HR talent and job opportunities), followed by a shrug. ... The body language felt very deflated - as though we all must choose to accept this fate. Full disclosure: that was jarring. I am not a defeatist by nature. HR industry peers: Do you agree? Is this just the new normal? Are you planning to learn to be satisfied with less? Where my mind went next: Here's an idea. What if HR and TA leaders work together and centralize? What if we pool talents outside the company's walls and remind employers how it feels NOT to have the right HR? Billable hours for services rendered would certainly cost significantly more than building an in-house (stellar) team. With some of the most talented people I know out of work... I'm just saying. Tipping the scales with a little combined effort would take very little. Maybe this job market needs a slice of humble pie. 🤔 PS - If you would like a second look at your resume, DM me. I'll do my best to help!

Billable hours makes a ton of sense.

Love this. It’s a really hard market to navigate, especially when you encounter layoffs pretty consistently. Thank you for sharing!
