Excited that we can FINALLY share this piece of work. Creative Equals has been working with the H&M Foundation, COS and The DO for the last nine months and it's been an incredible journey to solve some of the fashion sector’s biggest DE&I challenges in a programme called "Knit" – advancing inclusivity in the fashion industry
Last week, it culminated in a co-creation session in Stockholm, where eleven changemakers gathered to co-create solutions with the potential to drive a more inclusive fashion industry. The output was two tools, made available to anyone, that can empower leaders to increase inclusivity of people from different backgrounds.
Here's what we tackled:
• Problem statement: Fashion lacks diversity - those who create what we wear don’t really represent all of us, the communities that they serve.
• What we are doing: during the co-creation week, we collaborate closely to develop practical tools that can empower leaders in their everyday work. This is crucial for fostering inclusivity.
• Aim: the aim is to increase inclusivity, at all levels within the industry, by people from multifaceted backgrounds, specifically looking at ethnicity and socioeconomic class.
• Then what? The solutions created will be made available for the entire industry - and hopefully beyond.
• No stakeholder will profit; anyone is welcome to take away and apply the tools; and any organisation may adopt them.
