At Action4Youth we are firm believers in the benefits of outdoor education. Just a few of the benefits include: 📌Enhances mental health and well-being 📌 Improves mood, decreases stress and anxiety and helps with managing emotions 📌Builds confidence and self-belief 📌Fosters resilience 📌Promotes social interaction and teamwork 📌Cultivates a lifelong Llve for learning, the outdoors and nature 📌Gets kids more active In a GOV.UK report said that 92% of teachers surveyed said that pupils were more engaged with learning when outdoors and 85% saw a positive impact on their behaviour after being involved in an outdoor education project. 📉Key findings: • 72% of children said they got on better with others. • 93% of schools said outdoor learning improves pupils’ social skills. • 85% of schools saw a positive impact on behaviour. • 90% of staff surveyed found outdoor learning to be useful for curriculum delivery. • 72% of schools reported that outdoor learning had a positive impact on teachers’ health and wellbeing.   Wellbeing Wins at Cathedral Catholic Primary School: Success Stories Unfold    Cathedral Catholic Primary School in Bathurst are tilting the wellbeing odds in their favour by showing pleasing growth in student wellbeing in just under 12months time! This is how they are doing it: 🔉 Student Voice: By harnessing authentic student voice through the CEDB 'VIBE Survey', they fostered a community where every opinion matters. The Primary Wellbeing Officer will offer timely support based on results and provide feedback to all in the school. 🔉 Our needs for learning: The Breakfast Club ensures a nourishing start to the day and offers a sense of community before any form of learning occurs.   🔈 Support for every child: The consultation between the school counsellor, wellbeing officer and staff allows for both targeted and whole-school levels of support, meaning every child matters despite of the wellbeing needs.  🔉 A space for growth and support: The new learning hub enhances executive function skills, offering safe spaces for students to boost their skills to strengthen their ability to learn. 🔉 A focus on social and emotional learning: With a strong emphasis on social and emotional learning, students are building a resilient, compassionate mindset who have a strong awareness of themselves and others around them. What great steps have been taken on this wellbeing journey in such a short amount of time.  

Shaping Future-Ready Minds Through Wellbeing Wellbeing is more than a foundation—it’s the catalyst for academic success, employability, and lifelong growth. Consequently, it is important to integrate Social Emotional Learning into classrooms and policies, ensuring every child is equipped to thrive in a rapidly changing world. As part of our Children’s Week Campaign, we hosted a webinar on 'Understanding Children’s Wellbeing' to discuss the transformative power of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in shaping future-ready students. From innovative ways to measure SEL to its critical role in fostering adaptability and resilience, the discussion underscored why wellbeing must be at the heart of education.
