The Mowi 2024 Q2 report is now available, highlighting a strong operational second quarter for Mowi. This was driven by good operations across all business areas, including seasonal record-high growth in sea and reduced farming cost. Ivan Vindheim, CEO of Mowi, said: “Mowi harvested a record 110,000 tonnes of salmon in the second quarter. At the same time our biomass in sea was at an all-time high level at the end of the quarter, and up by 9.4% from last year. This is impressive and shows that Mowi is well on track to deliver on our volume guidance of a milestone 500,000 tonnes this year. As recently as 2018 Mowi harvested 375,000 tonnes of salmon". Atlantic Sapphire releases Q3 harvest figures : Florida-based producer reports biological improvements in the quarter with stable water quality, temperatures and low mortality.  Atlantic Sapphire, the land-based salmon farming company, announced a total harvest volume of approximately 1,300 tonnes head-on gutted (HOG) in the third quarter of 2024, an increase from the 1,245 tonnes reported in Q2 2024. Overcrowded tanks impacting average harvest weight says Atlantic Sapphire : Harvest for Q2 marks a slight increase from the 1,150 tons harvested in the first quarter. Florida.-based land-based salmon farming company Atlantic Sapphire has reported a total harvest volume of approximately 1,245 tons HOG (head-on gutted) for the second quarter of 2024. During the same period, the net biomass gain was around 1,550 tons live weight, compared to 1,200 tons in the first quarter. The standing biomass at the end of the second quarter was 2,930 tons live weight, up from 2,870 tons at the end of the first quarter. Focus on volume as biomass reached an all-time high for Mowi in Q2 : The world's largest salmon farmer saw a 3.5% decrease in farming costs from the €6.05 per kilogram ($6.37/kg) recorded in the first quarter. Norwegian salmon farming giant Mowi reported operating revenues of €1.34 billion in the second quarter of 2024, translating to an operational profit of €230 million. The company attributed its improved results from the previous quarter to robust performance across all business segments, including record-high seasonal growth at sea and reduced farming costs. The presence of watermelons on oil palm plantations through the intercropping system is not only beneficial during the cultivation process. Even after the cultivation period or after harvesting, watermelons continue to provide benefits to the oil palm plantations. After the watermelon harvest on the oil palm plantations, the remaining biomass, such as stems and leaves, will not be discarded or burned.
