Employers can leverage a POWERFUL brand strategy to attract top talent by highlighting their own team members' voices. This is because, in today's social media-driven world, authentic perspectives take center stage, and individual perspectives are prized over corporate "sales pitches". But there's a hazard with this approach... sometimes, companies want to turn personal stories into sterilized narratives that hold the corporate line. This was NOT the case when we had the privilege of working with The Six Semiconductor a couple of months ago. For Richard Fung and his leadership team, telling the story about TSS was ALL about authenticity! He and two other founders and their team members gave a series of talks that revealed EXACTLY what it's like to work at TSS, holding nothing back. And what we discovered as a result is how their culture not only supports the freedom of learning new things but also fosters a culture of collaboration and invention without the need to fear failure. What's more is, TSS now uses these conversations to share the story of their company to ANYONE who wants to see it, with video content on their website and through social posts on LinkedIn. Richard and the TSS founders deserve credit for empowering their team in this way and in my view, their best brand marketing sits right in their office... it's their PEOPLE. #talentattraction #talentacquisition #semiconductorindustry

Recently while preparing for a keynote presentation, I was chatting with the key Human Resource leader who was responsible for the event. This event took place in a relatively small town in which a good portion of the residents were employed by the same entity. Similar to what I have in my city of Chandler, Arizona where a large portion of our residents work for Intel.
