Hurray! It’s been almost 3 months since I joined Wragby Business Solutions & Technologies Limited, and I truly feel like I’m in the right place at the right time. Milestone reached for my hires at Allsopp & Allsopp Group… 🥁🥁🥁 So last Friday it was revealed that my hires that I have headhunted myself for the business since November 2022 have now generated: Over 10m AED in commission for the business and counting in 18 months!! 💷 I got asked in an interview recently if it’s true that only 1% of people make it in this industry. I can’t speak for other companies but for us I can confidently say that the chance of you becoming successful is higher than anywhere else 👇🏻 Last year 105 people made the equivalent of a £100k UK salary or more. We had 350 brokers! So do the maths. Listen to our advice in your interviews, we see people come and go and we see people change their lives- we know the differences between these people. Right person, right role, right time. If someone isn't crushing it in a job, he or she is not a "B player." It only means that person isn't the right person in the right company/role at the right time. It doesn't say anything more about the company or the person than that. I know from experience. I have been that person that both was and *wasn't* the right person in the right role at the right time. Most recently, before Rabbu, Inc., at Palmetto I think I was perfect for them from 2016-2019. Palmetto needed essentially a new company to be built within the company, and I was a good fit to get it off the ground. I was a one-person R&D department, with a lot of help from international friends. But post-2019, after it was clear that what we were doing was working and needed to be grown/scaled (fast!), I was *not* the right person to scale the engineering department. The new job that was required felt awkward and uncomfortable (not in a good way) for me. And that's OK. CEO Chris Kemper and I recognized it (maybe a little slowly and with some discomfort!), but I moved on to a better fit for me at Rabbu, Inc., and Palmetto and Chris moved on to bigger and better things as well. They haven't missed me, and I have been cheering them on hard as an alumni. Let's normalize thinking about it this way. It's not right categorizing people as "b players." Right person, right role, right time.

I had the privilege of briefly working on Cathy Minter's team while I interned at R3. She's one of the most impressive sales leaders I've met, and her answer to what makes a great day in sales is likely the reason why. A great day in sales to her is meeting with current and prospective customers all day. WHY? Because they tell you why they are using your or a competitor's product, and that information is invaluable. The success of many companies is largely driven by the relationship between the sales and product teams. Sales know why customers are or aren't buying and then it's the prod/dev team's responsibility to act on that information. Thanks for coming on, Cathy! #sales #product
