If you could change something in today’s educational system (or your past schooling experience), what would it be?
Here are a few things that set Bethel apart from a traditional approach:
1. Every learner receives an Individualized Learning Plan. The parents / guardians, learner, and guide work together to create a unique plan, because every child learns and sees the world differently.
2. Learners set goals - weekly, session-long, and yearlong. The practice of goal setting can be hard for adults, yet when this rhythm is implemented, it can be incredibly beneficial and rewarding. Equipping learners to set their goals allows them to discover how capable they are as the stretch themselves and develop grit, perseverance, and a love for lifelong learning.
3. Learners are creative problem solvers and critical thinkers. We are far more discusssion based. We want our school to be a place where they find their voice, speak up, and use it to advocate for themselves, their peers, their programs, our school, and their greater community.
There is more Bethel is doing to empower learners on their journey of discipleship and doscovery. I would love to connect with you about it sometime. Feel free to reach out anytime.
