I am very excited to announce Happyrobot’s $17.5M Seed + Series A round led by Andreessen Horowitz, with support from Y Combinator, Array Ventures, and other strategic investors. Only 1 year ago, my co-founders and I built what’s probably “the best voice AI orchestration platform across all industries,” in the words of our investor and mentor Carles Reina, and many startups that still today use Happyrobot as a developer tool. At the beginning, many thought that this was just another Solution In Search of a Problem. Part of the Large Language Models "gold rush" of 2024. But we had the great advice of Diana Hu and all our Y Combinator partners and mentors that reminded us about the new opportunities that LLMs were unlocking. Based on my previous experience as the CFO of a shipper, Bertolli Olive Oil North America, I had a thesis: that information exchange in logistics was broken, and our Voice AI agents could be the solution. The best part? At that point, I had only scratched the surface. Thousands of hours of Zoom calls, on-site visits, and many conferences later, we realized that this was not a niche to get started in, but an industry to disrupt. That’s why we’re doubling down on logistics with our AI workers. While we believe that in a few months voice will become the main way in which we engage with information and technology, we realized that the problem we were solving was much larger. The soul-breaking transactional tasks that employees in the logistics industry have to carry out every day come in every shape and form, and AI is great at automating those as well, like extracting quotes from emails, logging all the information about a customer in the TMS/CRM, or sending thousands of text messages at a time. We don’t pretend to replace human relationships, but we know that these jobs will actually be much more effective when you have a Happyrobot companion representing you in these instances in which you can't reach. In the last few months, we’ve quickly grown to 7-figures of annualized revenue, with a 45% MoM growth rate. I wanted to thank all our customers, who trust our customer-facing AI workers every day, like Andrew Smith and Circle Logistics, pioneers in the world in adopting this technology at a very high scale. Also, thanks to our very early investors, like Kenneth Blomqvist, Pablo Martín Rodríguez, Luis Ignacio Vicente del Olmo, Antoine Leboyer, Shruti Gandhi, and all the angels and strategic investors who supported us in later stages. And, of course, thanks to the amazing likeminded investors at a16z that shared this thesis: Anish Acharya, Olivia Moore and Seema Amble.
