At The Amazing Society / Gazillion - the entire company was focused on PC MMORPGs for families and kids. For our studio's Super Hero Squad Online MMORPG project with Marvel, we aimed at family gaming - we wanted parents and kids to be able to play together. We discovered and learned so much along the way - such as the range of play styles from solo (parallel play) to co-op to competitive that kids are comfortable with as they begin their online play roughly based on their age but also with their online gaming experience level. If there is interest, I could post a series of post-mortem / lessons learned from this major family MMORPG from 2009 - 2017.
👀 Where Have All the Kids’ MMOs Gone? 🎮 The heyday of kids' MMOs like Club Penguin Entertainment and Toontown is long past, and no new platform has stepped in to fill that gap—yet. 🤔 But with advancements in safety, moderation, and verification tech, a new kids' MMO could finally be on the horizon. In our most recent newsletter, we dive into the history, challenges, and future of this genre, exploring how emerging solutions can address the unique needs of young players. 👉 Read the full piece here: https://lnkd.in/gHupxbeh #GamingNews #KidsMMO #OnlineSafety #Konvoy
A fantastic idea. Gazillion remains the high point of both team camaraderie and quality of game produced.
Would love to hear it Jason. We’re focussed on family gaming at Nex with a laser focus on Trust & Safety.
Yes, please! Working with you, and a team full of wonderful people, at The Amazing Society is one of the highlights of my career.
Really wish I could play it with my 4-year-old now. She even loves the show through Disney+!
YES, PLEASE! I think this would be amazing insight from a marvelous perspective. Bonus points for letting me wax nostalgic at it all. :)

Great idea!
Consciousness is the ultimate mystery of nature.
1wPlease do post a postmortem, Jason! I had the privilege of working with Jason at Gazillion - and on Castle Infinity at Starwave, which was acquired by Disney, and on a Toontown Online port to the PS3 using a PS3 breadbox while at Sony Online. Working with Disney's remarkable Toontown team was an unforgettable experience.
