How do you score character? There may be innate traits, learned habits, and yet it is through our most difficult challenges where it is revealed. Out of pain and suffering resilience is born. Many of you who have participated in my courses know the power and impact of these life lessons. Give a listen to Jensen Huang, NVIDIA CEO and his description to Stanford University students. https://lnkd.in/eDcizRcc

Let AI Handle Programming, Focus on Your Strengths NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang offers surprising advice to students about their future careers in technology. Contrary to popular belief, Huang discourages students from learning programming, suggesting instead that they should let artificial intelligence handle coding tasks. Huang emphasizes the importance of focusing on one's unique strengths and passions rather than trying to acquire skills that may soon be automated. He advises students to identify what they're naturally good at and work hard to become exceptional in those areas. The CEO's message encourages students to embrace their individual talents and interests, rather than conforming to traditional expectations of tech skills. By leveraging AI for programming and concentrating on their distinct abilities, Huang believes students can maximize their potential and make significant contributions in the rapidly evolving tech landscape. #AIinTech #FutureOfWork #Trendigm #CareerAdvice Trendigm | Enabling Innovation

Friends - The other night I gave a talk on Suffering (in both life and in business) to a group of DC tech investors, founders, and leaders. It was a part-talk/part-testimony and it was followed by an amazing group discussion. We all suffer...some to lesser and greater extents. But we (myself included) often do not recognize the incredible value suffering can have or and the fruits suffering can yield. The key is responding to suffering by leaning in, embracing it, and turning it outward so it can, in a strange mysterious way, be a blessing in our lives. And fate would have it, I saw this video by the CEO of Nvidia who spoke on this topic of Pain and Suffering. It was too good not to share. He reminded me of one of my favorite lines from the Bible: we know that "suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope". #dctech #techlings #character Enjoy. https://lnkd.in/ejKfmtR4

Interested in GenAI and willing to go an extra mile in understanding the technical aspects and broader industry context? If so, I recommend the Generative AI Explained self-paced course by NVIDIA, the industry leader in driving advances in GPU and computing power. It's very short, covers the basics, but also spices things up with some nuances that might be missing in other common courses.

I'm excited to announce the successful completion of one of Northeastern's premier courses, 'High Parallel Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence'. Professor Handan Liu curated this course with a focus on unraveling the intricacies of parallel processing, particularly in executing complex models on Discovery utilizing 28 CPU cores and 4 GPUs. The course journey was nothing short of exhilarating, where learning seamlessly intertwined with enjoyment. The excitement peaked during our project phase, centered around 'Lung and Colon Cancer Detection' employing the ResNet 50 model. Despite its pre-trained nature, mastering the utilization of code for parallel execution and attaining peak performance proved to be an enlightening endeavor. And, as per the result part we could train our model in 30 seconds using the parallel processing techniques and still maintain the accuracy to 93% overall. My project partner, Devki Patel, was also an integral part of this exhilarating journey, and together, we made significant strides in both our collaborative work and learning endeavors. Our github repository is shared in comments. Our happiness doubled when we received commendable feedback from Professor. #datascience #dataloading #modelparallel #performance #learning

5 Speech Takeaways from the #CEO of the World's Most Valuable Company It was smart of Jensen Huang to pick #Caltech for his commencement speech. It fits his brand. He probably received many invitations. Both chief scientists at Nvidia are from Caltech! 5 points: 1) Huang achieved his undergrad degree from Oregon State University and an MS from Stanford. Admissions advice from me -- If your kid didn't get into an Ivy League, or 'public Ivy' like Berkeley, they can still try again in grad school. 2) He believes he's the longest-running tech CEO. 3) He gave a commencement speech in Tawain last year. 4) Modern computing traces back to the IBM System 360. He learned from this. He discusses how his company grew along with the growth in popularity of #deeplearning. 5) Nvidia is recruiting so speaking at at Caltech was a smart move from a PR standpoint. We toured Caltech during the SoCal undergrad college tour. My son chose Berkeley for math. I still have high regard for Caltech and MIT. They are deep rivals by the way. My grandpa, my mom's mom, went to MIT for a year, at the young age 16, and then transferred to George Washington University in DC and got both engineering and law degrees there. He loved DC and missed home when he was in Cambridge, MA, but it was cool he went there for a year. He was a patent attorney.
