What do you think of the new MJ editor? To me systems like that offer only the illusion of creative control.. they still take way too many of the creative choices. Good if you just want a pretty picture that is well within the understanding of the training data.. not so great for anything else. That said this is only based on a firsthand impression.. I'll be testing it more and will be happy to be proven wrong! I like the UI though, very elegant and easy to use. The way new generations "fade" in as they're generating is really nice.. would be even better if we could click to regeneration those generations we can tell are steering in the wrong direction. Here's a comparison between the new editor and a more manual workflow in Photoshop using the ComfyUI Plugin. There's also a bit of the new Adobe Substance 3D viewer integration in PS for good measure. #art #ai

If you don't believe in the capabilities of ai-based image generation, or you think the output is garbage you really should take the time to take a look at Adobe Firefly... they have a vast library of licensed content in order to keep innovating and that is what they've done. Adobe just released the Photoshop Beta update, which has Firefly 3 integration to create some AI magic. I had to do some tests, of course. I started with a previously generated empty cityscape image, which I then began to fill with various elements. I would say we're not yet at the Stable Diffusion / Midjourney level in terms of the details and precision of the images, but the leap from the previous generative fill function is enormous. And even if this doesn't quite yet produce hi-res advertising images, it's perfectly adequate for many needs. And the ease of use is certainly appealing. If I tried to do some analysis based on these initial experiments, I would say Photoshop does quite well with the tones and blending elements into the background. Also, the proportions, perspective, and direction of light are nearly spot on. It doesn't quite succeed with shadow shapes yet. And there are quite a few peculiarities in the images, but they can be quickly corrected with new generative fill prompts. In this example, some elements were created on the first try, while others required two or three rounds of prompting and regenerating some details. But it’s all very fast. Exciting news from Adobe this week! They announced the release of their new Firefly 3 Foundation Model, now integrated into Photoshop. While currently only available on the web and in beta, we can expect to see it fully integrated into the production version this year I think. Adobe is, in my mind, a really interesting player in the generative AI space. By avoiding potential legal issues and concerns around data usage, they're becoming the perfect competitor for companies looking to leverage these new tools. Photoshop's generative AI just got an upgrade. This is what you need to know 👇 Some of the folks from the studio attended Adobe Max London last week, and a key takeaway was the AI upgrade just launched in Adobe Photoshop, now available in BETA. 1 - Adobe Firefly is a great tool but has always been a separate app (We use it a lot to create artwork for our CGIs). This is now available directly in Photoshop Beta, so no logging in, downloading, importing, etc. 2 - 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗱𝗱 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲. This new tool allows users to upload a selected image instead of a text prompt. In the gif below, the reference was 'jewellery,' and voila, it has added diamonds to the bee. Sparkling bee 🐝 3 - 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 is especially useful for brands offering physical products. Simply upload a product image and remove the background. You can then type in what you want the new background to be. Saving heaps of time... It's another new era for the studio as AI feels more native and intuitive when using our day-to-day tools... Time will tell how it affects creative output, but we continue to learn and embrace it... #creativity #ai #photoshop
