It was a bright and sunny day when we visited Lovett, and it felt like the good weather was no coincidence ☀ Lovett, one of our cleaning supervisors on site, radiates positivity, and her smile was as warm as the sun that day. “Lovett is amazing with people,” says Patrycja, our Area Manager. And it’s clear why. Lovett’s energy is infectious, and the relationships she’s built on-site are nothing short of remarkable. “They always give me gifts, many times. They always say I’m a good cleaner! Lovett, the whole place is nice!” she says with a smile. The appreciation she receives says a great deal about her character whether it’s a coffee, chocolates, or, as she puts it, “Last week, the lady on the 8th floor bought me two cokes.” Her dedication is just as notable. Lovett makes sure everything runs smoothly each day, from uniform checks to ensuring safety in the early, dark winter mornings. “I make sure every morning when I come in, I go to each and every colleague to make sure that they have their yellow signs, make sure everyone is on time, I will do uniform checks and rectify or educate anyone if they don’t have the correct uniform. If somebody is not in, I will ring them to check and make sure nothing has happened on the way to work”. Patrycja adds, “During winter months, they start at 5 am, and it is pitch black, so Lovett will take the correct measures to make sure that they’re safe”. It’s no wonder Lovett and her team received high praise during Christmas last year from our client, with a massive thank you from everyone on site. What do you enjoy the most about the people you work with? If you ask someone how they’re going at work and it’s not great, then it usually has something to do with people…colleagues, boss, stakeholders, vendors, customers…. The people we work with have such a major influence on our experience and enjoyment at work. I stumbled upon the below image “green flags for co-workers” and it got me thinking. We always know when things are not right….but how do you know when you work with great people? What are your Green Flags for a great co-worker? ⭐️ for a bonus point…tag some who is a great colleague. We don’t often enough show gratitude to the people who deserve it

What I didn't do right in the last one year while building BIGCLIQ: 1) Stopped reading. In the rush to acquire new clients, I stopped acquiring new knowledge 2) Quoted less to survive. I should have trusted my skills 3) Was scared to build my team and depended on a third B2B party. The back and forth drained my energy 4) Procrastinated. Yes, I did procrastinate 5) Neglected building my personal brand 6) Compared my progress with others 7) Travelled excessively to avoid the void. What I did right in the last one year while building BigCliq: 1) I didn't give up. I recognized my mistakes and committed to correcting them.

Have a bit of fun at work! I’ve started working with a new team this year. It's the highlight of my week. We are united by the work we’re here to do to help our client deliver their mega project by building great relationships. We are a team of consultants and people are our business. So we practice what we preach. We know we will deliver great results for our client if we know each other, understand each other and trust each other. So we start every team meeting posing a question to help us get to know more about each other. It’s silly. It’s fun. It takes 15 minutes. Then we get down to business. This is what I notice when we do it -people are smiling, laughing, visibly relaxed. People instantly connect and find things in common. Because we have made work more human, we are more respectful of each other when it comes to differences in the work. Just as companies invest in training and CPD, teams need to invest time in each other to get better results. What do you with your team to build these connections?
