This is a fantastic reflection on how far we've come in the digital age, Jason. Netscape Navigator was truly a catalyst that brought the internet into the mainstream, changing not only how we accessed information but also how we connected and conducted business. The parallels with ChatGPT are fascinating. Just like Netscape democratized the web, AI tools like ChatGPT are now breaking down barriers to technology, enabling innovation across industries at a breathtaking pace. It’s incredible to think about how these pivotal moments—separated by decades—continue to shape the way we live, work, and dream of the future.
Ah yes, the early days. I also used Mosaic a lot at the time. I remember there were only like a few dozen internet pages in Netherlands at the time; and it was slow slow (2400 baud = 300 bytes per second!). Btw, fun fact: The Netherlands was the first country, outside North America, to be connected to the internet.
Jason Averbook, what an incredible journey from Netscape to AI. How many more groundbreaking innovations will reshape our digital landscape in the next 30 years? #DigitalEvolution
