TIKTOK WHAT HAVE YOU DONE 😭 Cue all Social Media Managers and Content Creators around the world crying right now because this is NOT GOOD ‼️ This morning, I logged into TikTok to save some drafts for a client and was stopped in my tracks by this pop up - TikTok was saying I either had to post the content or save it… with a WATERMARK 😫 This is going to be a huge issue for creators that work on a UGC basis with brands providing them with TikTok first edits, or Social Media Managers who provide brands with edits for their socials when they don’t have log-in access - as there is now no way to save edits with TikTok text on without a watermark I’m going to keep my fingers and toes crossed that TikTok decides to revert this edit because it feels like this is going to make the editing and posting process a whole lot harder 🤞🏼 Like, does TikTok want us to use CapCut text!? What’s your thoughts on this and how are you going to get around it? 🤔 #socialmediamanagers #tiktokupdate #contentcreators #ugccreators
I've been posting the video so it saves to my phone then quickly deleting it before anyone sees. However, then you can't then go back to make any edits you just have the video without the watermark 🥲
TikTok at it again 🥲 It feels like ByteDance is constantly going between trying to decide whether to push CapCut in TikTok or not!! I've been thinking of cancelling my CapCut subscription until I saw this on TikTok yesterday so I'm going to keep it now, maybe that's why?? 🤣
WAIT NO TIKTOK, how am I going to get my green screen content :,) is there another app to use for that green screen effect TikTok has?
Oh wow, I’ve noticed this too, and it’s such a frustrating update! 😩 Also have you seen the new capcut update? 😭 They’ve decided to add a watermark when you try to download your videos in the free version. I’ve been using CapCut daily for all my editing needs because it’s free and super easy to use, but this update is just terrible.
Not what I wanted to see on my feed this morning 🥲 It's definitely a step backwards from TikTok and just when I thought their editing tools had gone up in the ranks 🫣
This is an awful feature 😳
Takes me back to the times when you couldn’t even save drafts to your camera roll. My (very un-ideal) workaround then was to have a secondary private account to create & upload content, then use an online downloader (snaptik, qload etc) to download the content. But as you said hopefully TikTok will change their mind & roll this back 🤞🏾
How annoying! I guess you could post privately but then you can’t go back and edit it!
Quite literally my least favorite thing is when platforms pull stuff like this on us. WE'RE JUST TRYING TO PREP AND POST THINGS! Oof.

1wI did a post on this this morning and seem to have found the workaround! Whilst adding this (annoying) feature, TikTok have also added two other features 1. You can now save posted content to your camera roll WITHOUT the watermark! 2. You can now ‘delete’ and re-edit content So you just have to post the video privately, then it saves the content to your phone without the watermark, then go onto the posted video and click delete and re-edit! Although this is slightly annoying and I’m still unsure whether TikTok will penalise for ‘deleting’ the content… (even though it’s just putting it back into drafts), it seems to be the workaround for now 🤞🏼
