All businesses should be thinking how they can recycle more. not just for today.
It's Global Recycling Day! ♻ #BCHS has partnered with Rubbermaid Commercial Products Europe to work together and improve sustainability by implementing multi-stream waste management and reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills. With visible waste separation bins, encourage more recycling in your business, including highly visible signage. In Wales, from 6th April 2024, new legislation will mean material that is prime for recycling must be separated prior to collection for processing off-site and kept separate throughout waste processing activities. This global recycling day, join us in becoming more sustainable through recycling solutions and be part of the change! Quick reminder that there are now only 6 months until the new recycling legislation comes in for all businesses in the UK with over 10 employees. The new rules coming into effect in March 2025 require businesses to separate all dry mixed recyclables and food waste from their general waste, prior to collection. And given that only 61% of SMEs would meet the new rules if they came into effect today*, it’s an opportunity to get ahead of the curve before the inevitable price hike for recycling equipment as everyone scrambles around closer to the deadline… #FacilitiesManagement #FM #CAFM #FacilityServices *Rubbermaid Commercial Products survey via Censuswide

According to the latest report from the Recycling Partnership, only 21% of materials—including paper and glass—are successfully recycled in the United States. For HDPE packaging, a staggering 76% is lost during the process, either in homes or at Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs). Shifting consumer behavior remains a significant challenge. Among the strategies to address environmental impact, reduction stands out as the most effective. Flexible pouches offer a compelling solution, minimizing overall environmental impact. #reduce #sustainablepackaging #flexiblepouch

We continue to see post-consumer recycled content policy and brand owner commitments lead the way for pushing the growth of plastic recycling globally. Blue Polymers strives to not only be the leader in post-consumer recycling to offer the best PCR resins available to the market but to be experts in information. There is so much noise around sustainability today for plastics that information is key to your organization's success. Read our latest blog on California's recycled content policy for beverage containers.
California sets the bar high with AB 793, driving towards increased recycled content in plastic beverage containers. This legislation champions domestic recycling markets and a resilient end market for recycled materials, paving the way for a stronger circular economy. Join us in exploring how states like California and Connecticut are leading the charge for sustainability! https://lnkd.in/gBHhRmC2 #RecycledContent #CircularEconomy #Sustainability

SB 343 was passed by the California Legislature and signed into law by Governor Newsom in 2021, and it was intended to limit deceptive or misleading claims about the recyclability of products and packaging. It sought to do so by limiting claims of recyclability—including use of the well-known chasing arrows symbol—to products and packaging that meet certain criteria. Generally, the criteria are that the material is of a type collected by jurisdictions serving at least 60% of California and is sorted into defined waste streams for recycling facilities serving at least 60% of recycling programs statewide.
