Elon Musk could be the world's first trillionaire by 2027. Well, most of this is paper wealth (Tesla, Twitter). That wealth, like many billionaires', inflates and deflates with the stock market. And right now Elon Musk has certainly been inflated by Trump's election win. It's quite a turnaround. Back in April he was only the fourth richest person in the world and now he's number one. I bet he's pleased. Are you? Do you care? Music: Highlights by Ooyy, Epidemic Sounds How I did it: D3 JavaScript
The top 10 in your list have a current combined fortune of around $1880 billion. Only 10 people on the planet with control over almost $2 trillion in wealth. Now look around the world at our climate issues, our poverty and equality issues, healthcare issues. These people could clean up the Great Pacific Garbage Patch with spare change. They could invest in global education and healthcare programmes, they could build renewable energy companies. Their wealth could contribute to human improvement on a massive scale. Although some are investing in the future of humanity, most are focused on vanity projects like space exploration or basketball teams. Perhaps the character that drives them to acquire massive wealth also makes it impossible for them to empathise with the real needs of the world. If they did, their wealth wouldn't be so obscenely excessive. (rant over).
It is a title and numbers only. However, when we think about lasting legacies, we tend to remember individuals who made a genuine impact on society—those who selflessly worked for the betterment of humanity. It's a reminder that true influence isn't measured by wealth alone, but by the positive change we bring to the world. Let’s reflect: Should we focus more on the influence of wealth, or should we celebrate those who make a meaningful difference, regardless of their financial status?
Are all of these billionaires American?
He's not the richest. Some Arab princes are all in top 5 probably but since they're royals, nobody actually knows their wealth.
Wow! Am I impressed or not impressed? Do I digest that extraordinary graphic at an 'individual's achievement' level or at a 'member of society' level. I am extremely lucky to live in a 'western society', that I was lucky to be born in to. What does that mean at a 'global society' level where the majority of 'society' are not as fortunate as I am; and had as much say in that as I did in choosing when and where they were born. #jameseagle fantastic work as ever mate!
This isn't at all accurate because if Elon Musk sold off his stock, it would collapse the company's stock. On the other hand, you have someone like Warren Buffett who is extremely diversified and could sell off everything and not collapse the value of the rest of his assets.

The Worlds richest man has a company that makes electric vehicles and solar roofs. You’d think that the Democratic Party would embrace this man and company as the driving force behind their global warming/climate change agenda.
The fact someone can own that much wealth and receive so many tax breaks when most peoples tax and wealth in real terms are increasing and decreasing respectively, is a clear sign of an intrinsically unfair and broken system.

3wI thought it was quite interesting that Bloomberg classifies Elon Musk at being in the tech industry, which is true. He has Twitter (tech), Tesla (more tech than car), and SpaceX (cool tech). It's also pretty crazy to see that sea of yellow, don't you think? It pays to be in tech.
