Time to legalise private e-scooters in the UK? During a user research project into luxury e-scooters several years ago, it became clear to me that there is a real appetite for quality, reliable, safe and robust forms of micromobility here in the UK. Since 2020 slow and cautious trials have limited cities to tightly controlled rental schemes and private use on roads and pavements has remained illegal. The Transport Secretary this week has suggested this is about to change. If done right will create real opportunities to pull away from cheap, unsafe e-scooters from overseas. For designers and strategists working in this space, understanding the unique needs and preferences of customers in the UK is going to be more important then ever. #micromobility #e-scooters Harry Wills Oscar Morgan

Exciting times for the micro-mobility sector. A bit late for the start-ups that had to fold too soon though :(
