Luxe Award incoming! (Holding thumbs….) Our humble little Karoo cottage, a passion project for us two Advertising guys, has been nominated as a finalist in the category “self catering”. The Luxe Awards showcase South Africa’s most discerning and beautifully styled establishments, in categories ranging from large to boutique hotels and leading restaurants. We are in the company of greats, like recent winners Babylonstoren, Singita Lebombo, The Mount Nelson and Sterrekopje Farm - just on a (much) smaller scale. Nevertheless, we are humbled and proud that Mukti, who rests amongst the dusty streets of Nieu-Bethesda, is punching well above her weight. She has graced the covers of numerous decor magazines and coffee table books, such as Visi, Perfect Hideaways and Masculus. Holding thumbs the old dame also converts this one to a win! I can only lay claim to guest management, the design of the garden and maintenance. It is our talented Mr Marc Watson who curated Mukti’s exquisite interiors. And he did it all by collecting cherished art and objects from around the country and the world, some pieces as old as 300 years :) I will make sure he attends the ceremony in a tuxedo!

James Moffatt I had the privilege of staying at Mukti before. What a humbling experience it was. From our check in, Angie and her warm Karoo charm to the stylish and well appointed decor in the house blew my breath away. Something I remember still now is the thoughtfulness of where every little thing was placed. It surely is a special experience staying at Mukti and I woulr recommend it to everyone passing by.
