This is SO important. Sales success is not solely based off individual contribution, but also team support & morale. How are the leaders engaging the team and supporting them to leverage and grow their key account base? Insight into that is directly attached to quota achievement. If 90% of the team is performing at expectation, you can expect the outliers to be lacking individually & make an educated assumption.

You are not a people leader… I see a lot of “leaders” shaming new SDRs applying for their open position for sending generic messages! Seems like you forget that you started somewhere yourself! Show me your first LinkedIn message or email—I bet you sucked too at some point! We all suck at something new one way or another but you know what’s suckier? You promoting a culture of arrogance because of your ego or hunger to get attention from the groupies for a like or follow. You are hiring for a junior role, so maybe you are lazy or delusional for thinking you can always score a trained SDR! Maybe if you have a tiny team and are adding 1-2 headcount you have the luxury to expect this, but what if you are growing beyond that? A leader's job is to build a safe environment for people new to the role to learn and grow! Now a better way… 1. Read the book Ego is the enemy by Ryan Holiday. 2. Show your applicant a better way on your post. 3. Be humble and uplift somebody. One thing I hated the most when I was in sales was working with leaders who forgot that they started someday too! Be an inspiration…don’t be Kanye! #coachthecoach #sales #hiring

“They know too much about the ice” - @Peterstretz I just had a great chat with Peter Stretz after a sales call and reflected on how our team stands out within our organization. We also had an all hands kick off meeting earlier this week. As we do, we talked through what we saw and learned there. Our conversation changed to hiring, sales people and overall effectiveness of a sales person within tech sales. “We could hire the best sales person out there, someone who could sell Ice to Eskimos but sometimes they “know too much about the ice” Peter mentioned the importance of not getting stuck in the details, highlighting how sometimes knowing "too much about the ice" can limit accomplishments. New hires often excel by approaching opportunities with fresh eyes, unbounded by past experiences. While experience is crucial, sometimes blind tenacity and a high motor can outperform a perfect match on paper. As leaders, it's essential to balance experience with the potential of raw talent. Let's keep an open mind when building our teams and remember the power of a fresh perspective. It is our responsibility to teach and coach and ensure that our team is ready to take the next call. If we aren’t going to do that then yes, hiring the best most senior talented lone wolf is best…if that’s your model. #Sales #SalesManager #Leadership #Hiring #TechSales #Medicaldevice #Salesforce #Salesteam #music 🎸🎸🎸

Sales Leaders, heads up: I know THREE outstanding sales pros looking for their next gig. - 2 AES (probably 'senior' or moving upmarket) --> both top performers in current roles. - 1 sales leader (front line, second line, could EASILY be a first time early stage Head of/VP of Sales)--> excels in strategy, execution, and one of the best people leaders I know. I've hired and worked with all of them in the past. I'd hire and work with them again in a heartbeat. Preferably, they'd hire me one day. Hit me up. 🚀 The Roller Coaster of Tech Sales 🎢 Working in tech sales can feel like an emotional roller coaster, especially as the month unfolds. At the start, you’re scrambling to build your pipeline, and that anxiety about generating leads can feel overwhelming. But as the days go by, and your pipeline gets cleaner, the fog clears. You start to see the opportunities you have in play, and that shift happens—now, it’s all about closing. Here’s the key lesson I've learned: Your mind is a powerful tool. It can either make you or break you. ✨ Needy energy is repelling. Abundance attracts. ✨ Instead of focusing on the pressure to close deals, focus on doing your best, staying grounded, and trusting the process. The right opportunities will follow when you put in the work, trust your abilities, and stay calm in the chaos. Remember: at the end of the day, the day has to end. No matter what happens, we learn, grow, and get better each time. Keep pushing forward. 💪 How do you manage the mental roller coaster of sales and stay grounded during the ups and downs? #TechSales #SalesMindset #AbundanceMindset #SalesJourney #GrowthMindset #ClosingDeals
