This is why I’ll always advocate to #workfromhome when it’s possible. Because of this, I’ve been there to see my son sit up on his own for the first time, his first crawl, his first time holding his bottle and so many more moments. I wouldn’t have seen any of this if I was travelling to work, to sit behind a desk to please someone who only wanted me there because they didn’t have the same flexibility options when they were in my position. If you are a CHRO or anyone on the C-Suite, I urge you to let your workforce (that can) work from home with complete flexibility. Your trust and enablement in them to be able to minimise missing magic moments that my employer SmartRecruiters has maximised for me, you will be paid back dividends in loyalty and performance across the board (when you hire the right people). #flexibleworking #workingparents #wfh

I totally agree with Rich Lewis-Jones, we hire highly skilled adults, it is time to treat them as such. I cannot fathom that so many people are lead by performance by sight and have to sit behind a desk, room, café in the workplace. I value connection, and know the benefits in teams performance but there are so many ways to build it. We need to find ways to connect and innovate, yes, but a hard fast regimented fashion will not achieve the connection or innovation needed to grow the business effectively. IME it is a winning formula to have the right people in the right place aligned to your mission and valued for who they are and what they bring to the table.
