An African-based company hired an IT Senior Manager with over 10 years of experience, entrusting them with the complete responsibility of overseeing the IT department. Despite the critical nature of the role, the company had not adequately invested in IT infrastructure, nor had they prioritized the well-being and salaries of the IT team. With a monthly salary slightly exceeding $2500, the IT manager successfully ran the company's operations and diligently handled all security procedures for a period of three years. However, in the company's fifth year, they fell victim to a ransomware attack. Consequently, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and other board members approached the IT manager, seeking full accountability for the incident. What is your opinion? Has the well-being of the IT team played a role? Could this incident be prevented? As a CIO, what would be your primary approach? Do you think that salary triggers slovenliness?

URGENT - FRAUD ALERT We have recently been contacted by several people who are not registered with CBW (i.e. Not on our database) who have received text messages from fraudsters claiming to work for CBW Staffing Solutions. In some cases, these individuals are impersonating and using the name of actual CBW staff and offering jobs to candidates. We urge you not to provide any personal details over text or email and to contact CBW immediately on [email protected] or 02023 583 3099 to verify the approach. CBW Staffing Solutions are a leading Facilities Management, Engineering & Construction recruiter and would therefore not be offering work outside of these specific sectors. Protect yourself against employment fraud Check the official records to confirm that the organisation offering you the job actually exists. If it does, contact the organisation directly through officially listed contact details to confirm the job offer is genuine. CBW would not text any job application links (Do not click the link) Check any texts / documents for poor spelling and grammar – this is often a sign that fraudsters are at work. Beware, too, if the employer or agent provides a webmail email address such as @Yahoo or @Hotmail as a point of contact. Do not provide any bank details. If you’ve given them any money, contact your bank immediately. Please report any incidents to https://lnkd.in/eZSj8Wm2

In the security industry, the national annual turnover rate for security officers is estimated to range between 70% and 200%, resulting in an entirely new workforce for the average private security firm every 12 months. Prioritizing officer engagement can lead to decreased elevated churn rates in the security industry, keeping security officers motivated and engaged in their duties. As we continue in the new year, it is necessary to keep officers engaged as it is beneficial to the overall efficiency of your security operations. #SecurityChurnRate #EmployeeChurn #SecurityChallenge #SecurityOfficer
