The Economist once concluded: Nobody really knows what strategy is. Willie Pietersen does know. Drawing from his vast CEO experience, he combines as a Professor of the Practice of Business at Columbia Business School insights from business practice and academia in a unique and highly entertaining way. Thx, Willie, for teaching me strategy and being an invaluable source of inspiration.
I'm convinced that I heard @Willie Pietersen interviewed on BBC Radio 4 in the last few years. But I can't track that broadcast down. The points he made (if it were he) were "simple" and exceptionally lucid, and communicated with skill and humor. Thanks for reminding me of this, Jürgen Weigand. (I'm more than a bit jealous...)
And faith is not a business model, amazing title, looking forward to read it after some time!
Two of best Professors and Teachers I’ve been given an opportunity to learn from on strategy tools. Thank you both.
Yes, Willie Pietersen does know strategy. I’ve been fortunate enough to attend his strategy class at #columbiabusinessschool and can confidently say that it was the best class ever!
Thank you 🙏🏻 Willie. Without your inspiration this book would never have existed.
Unforgettable lesson! 👍🏼
Perfect!

1yIt sounds like you had an great experience - it's always impressive to learn from someone like Willie Pietersen, who has both practical and academic insights into strategy. Jürgen, is there a particular aspect or lesson from his teachings that you think has most helped to broaden your understanding of strategy?
