The fast-paced demands of 2024 have challenged us to stay adaptable, yet it’s also a chance to embrace what truly matters—being human. In today’s world, conscious leadership thrives on habits that foster connection, awareness, mental health, and authenticity. Let’s go beyond the usual and explore practices that nurture both our humanity and our impact: 1️⃣ Digital Detox Breaks: carve out intentional moments to step away from your screens. Disconnecting from constant notifications recharges your focus and helps you reconnect with yourself and the people around you. 2️⃣ Journaling for Reflection: use journaling to capture your thoughts, process emotions and learnings, and uncover patterns. This practice encourages self-awareness, a cornerstone of conscious leadership, while providing clarity in decision-making. 3️⃣ Micro-Learning Moments: dedicate five minutes daily to learning something new—a podcast, article, or course snippet. In a world of rapid change, staying curious fuels innovation and adaptability. 4️⃣ Gratitude in Action: move beyond gratitude lists and express genuine appreciation in real-time. Thank your team, acknowledge a peer, or even celebrate yourself for small wins. Gratitude fosters deeper human connections and strengthens relationships. 5️⃣ Mindful Listening: pause, fully present, and truly hear what others say. Listening without planning your response builds trust, resolves conflicts, and strengthens your ability to connect as a leader. As we close the year, let’s remember that leadership is not about being perfect but about being human, authentic, and present. Which of these habits could help you finish the year strong? I’d love to hear how you’re leading consciously as we head into 2024. #consciousleadership #beinghuman #leadershipdevelopment #personalgrowth #coaching

Psychology is more contagious than the flu. Think about it. I heard this quote from Evan Hafer on a recent podcast and it's very insightful! One person with a bad attitude walks into the room, what happens? You feel it. The energy shifts. People retreat. Productivity and morale take a nosedive. Flip it. One person walks in with positivity, a solutions-first mindset, and a genuine desire to uplift the team. You feel that too, don’t you? The atmosphere lightens. People step up. Ideas start flowing. We have all seen it time and again on the jobsite, the plant floor, boardrooms, and on the office. Culture is more than the mission statement hanging on the wall. It’s built in the moments where our attitudes, behaviors, and emotions ripple out to the people around us. And those ripples? They’re shaping the team, for better or worse. Choosing what kind of energy you bring into the room, how you handle setbacks, and the tone you set for the people watching (because trust me, they’re always watching). If you don’t take responsibility for your impact, someone else’s negativity will fill the gap....and that’s a recipe for disaster. What’s the ripple effect you’re creating in your workplace right now? Is it inspiring people to lean in, collaborate, and grow? Or is it quietly tearing things apart? Leadership is a choice. Every single day. What are you choosing? Let’s have the conversation. #leadershipmatters #workplaceculture #leadership #leadershipdevelopement #PCI #NPCA

👀 Want to witness up to 92% of your team thriving with high energy and peak performance? Korn Ferry Hay Group uncovered this possibility for leaders who excel in emotional self-awareness. In today's corporate landscape, that's hardly a surprise, right? Here's a mini guide to get you started on enhancing your mental health, executive presence, and emotional regulation: When facing challenges, you'll be swift, agile, and grounded, steering your team with finesse while fostering a top-notch culture. 😌 Awareness Practice: You can't control which emotions surface, but you can choose your response. Think of your mind as a radio dial - turn up the channels that serve you and tune out the ones that don't. ✨ Create an Emotional Grounding Routine: Use touch, breathing, or self-soothing techniques to centre yourself when emotions run high and feeling overwhelmed. Hold a small token (like a pen, ring, bracelet that you can easily touch) to anchor yourself, take deep breaths, and focus on what you’re experiencing in the moment. Notice. What's present? 🧘🏼♀️Visualize Success: Practice mental imagery by envisioning a successful outcome for challenging situations. How would you act and feel in that scenario, which can help you approach the actual situation with confidence and composure. It's a small start, but we all start somewhere on this journey. Here's to not only a happier, healthier you and team, but also to better self-efficacy, stronger task orientation, and enhanced commitment from your people to the organization, leading to greater profit! 👋🏼 I partner with senior leaders and teams to foster peak well-being and a 1% culture to unlock increased productivity + revenue, while retaining your team for twice as long! Have you ever caught yourself repeating habits that don’t serve you, even when you know they’re holding you back? Charles Duhigg, a New York Times journalist, was trapped in a daily routine that was harming his health. Every afternoon at 3 pm, he would crave a large chocolate cookie, despite having eaten a good lunch and struggling with obesity. By recognizing his afternoon cookie craving was a response to fatigue, he replaced it with a healthier reward - a short break and social interaction. After 21 days, this new habit became automatic. This cycle is familiar. 40% of our daily decisions are habits our brains repeat without thinking. In the workplace, these unconscious routines can limit your team’s productivity and growth. Break the cycle. As a leader, help your team: Identifying the routine that's holding your team back Experimenting with new rewards to instil a positive habit Repeating the new habit for 21 days to make it automatic The shift from "same habits" to "new habits" leads to new results. Let's transform habits and transform businesses! Mustardseed Training is here to support your team's growth and development. 🌟 Embracing Transformation 🌟 Transformation can be scary. It requires stepping into the unknown, facing our fears, and embracing change with open arms. But deep down, we know when we're being called to transform. And every time we answer that call, we fulfill ourselves and set an empowering example for our children. As executive moms, we understand the importance of walking the walk, especially when we're in a space of transformation. It's about embodying our values and leading by example. When we take on challenges, we show our children that they too can do hard things and that growth happens outside our comfort zones. For me, transformation is rooted in trust and faith—in myself and in the journey ahead. It's about speaking highly to myself, reminding myself that things always work out, and staying true to who I am. Because when we stay authentic to ourselves, we unlock our true potential and create space for miracles to unfold. So here's to embracing transformation, trusting in ourselves, and showing up as the best version of who we are. Because when we shine our light, we illuminate the path for others to do the same. 🌟 #EmpoweredExecutiveMom Join me for a FREE webinar on Burnout, Self-Care, and Stress Management on May 28th. 🌎 🌱 Grounding: The Science Behind Balance in Life and Leadership 🌎 🌱 Grounding isn't just a concept; it's backed by science and can significantly impact your life, and leadership journey. Honestly, until I stumbled upon a podcast about health recently, I had no idea about the real physiological benefits of grounding. By connecting with the Earth's electrical charge, we can reduce stress, inflammation, improve sleep, blood flow, and overall wellbeing. In my professional life, I co-run Mélange Coaching with Ivan Beaumont. It's not just a job; it's our passion, vocation, and joy. However, the demands can be tough, especially as a mother of three juggling both professional responsibilities and family duties. So, I'm diving into grounding to see how it can help me. And I'm curious if this is something you can explore too. Perhaps, with warmer months approaching, your team could ground together outside. #Grounding #Leadership #LifeBalance #Wellbeing #TeamCoaching

Tired of the carrot and stick? Try the autonomy-mastery-purpose framework instead! We've all been there: feeling like we're just going through the motions at work. But what if there was a better way to motivate ourselves and others? According to Dan Pink's book Drive, the key to motivation isn't external rewards and punishments, but intrinsic motivation – the drive that comes from within. And the three key ingredients for intrinsic motivation are: Autonomy: Feeling in control of our work, both what we do and how we do it. This isn't about micromanagement; it's about trusting employees to use their skills and judgment. Mastery: The desire to keep learning and improving. This means providing opportunities for growth and development, whether it's through training, mentorship, or challenging assignments. Purpose: Believing that our work matters. This means helping employees see how their work contributes to a larger goal. Here's a funny little trick to try next time you're feeling stuck: Imagine explaining your work to a rubber duck (or a teddy bear, or even a table!). Sometimes, just the act of talking things through can help you see the solution from a different perspective. So ditch the carrot and stick, and try giving your team autonomy, mastery, and purpose. You might just be surprised at the results! #motivation #intrinsicmotivation #danpink #workplace #management P.S. The image you sent perfectly captures the idea of motivation 3.0. The old way of motivation (motivation 1.0) was all about survival and basic needs. Motivation 2.0 focused on rewards and punishments. But motivation 3.0, as Pink argues, is about intrinsic motivators like autonomy, mastery, and purpose.
