SIX STEPS TO BUILDING HIGH PERFORMING TEAMS IN MANUFACTURING STEP 3: MAXIMIMZE STRENGTHS Each team member brings unique skills. A key to a high-performing team is leveraging these individual strengths effectively. Underutilizing team members' strengths leads to inefficiencies, and often time disengagement. 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 Take the time to understand each team member’s strengths and areas of expertise. Additionally, learn their areas of interest, and potential skill gaps. This discovery should occur both formally through documented reviews and 1-on-1’s, and informally through observation and casual conversations. 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 Assign tasks that align with these skills and strengths to maximize productivity and satisfaction. Also find opportunities to challenge individuals in areas of their interest. Both create confidence and worth for the team member. 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 Provide training sessions and workshops that help team members build upon their strengths, and to develop skills of necessity for the organization. Also build a mentoring program to help foster growth, and collaboration. Visualize a team where everyone works on tasks that play to their strengths. This alignment is not always easy, but worth the investment. In my experience, teams that focus on leveraging individual strengths achieve higher levels of success. Team members feel valued when their skills are recognized and utilized effectively. 𝘞𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘶𝘯𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮’𝘴 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭? The main idea of the book "The 4 Disciplines of Execution" is to provide a practical framework for achieving breakthrough results in any organization or individual endeavor. The book emphasizes the importance of focusing on a few key goals and implementing specific disciplines to drive progress and overcome the "whirlwind" of daily tasks. The four disciplines outlined in the book are: 1. Focus on the Wildly Important: Identify one or two crucial goals that will make the most significant impact and prioritize them above all other competing priorities. 2. Act on Lead Measures: Define and track the specific actions (lead measures) that have the most significant impact on achieving the goal, rather than focusing solely on lagging measures or outcomes. 3. Keep a Compelling Scoreboard: Visualize progress towards the goal by creating a scoreboard that is visible to all team members. This helps to create a sense of ownership and motivation. 4. Create a Cadence of Accountability: Establish regular meetings and routines that support accountability and ensure that progress is reviewed and adjusted accordingly. By implementing these four disciplines, individuals and organizations can increase their focus, engagement, and execution to achieve remarkable results.

100 Tips in 100 Days to Lead Your Team With Inclusion, Empowerment, and Compassionate Leadership. #15: The importance of SOP's and Workflows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workflows are vital for any organization aiming for efficiency and alignment with its mission. Here’s why they are essential: - Alignment with Company Mission: SOPs can be designed to reflect the core values and objectives of the organization. This ensures that every task contributes to the broader mission, fostering a sense of purpose among team members. - Guidance and Framework: SOPs provide clear guidelines for how tasks should be performed, helping team members understand their roles and responsibilities. This clarity enables consistent performance and high-quality outcomes. - Preventing Chaos: Without SOPs, workflows can become haphazard, leading to confusion and inefficiency. Tasks might feel like a series of urgent "fires" to put out rather than a structured approach to achieving goals. - Enhanced Collaboration: When everyone follows established procedures, teamwork improves. Team members can rely on one another, knowing that everyone is working within the same framework. - Continuous Improvement: Well-defined SOPs are not static; they can evolve based on feedback and changing conditions, allowing the organization to adapt and grow while remaining aligned with its mission. By establishing effective SOPs and workflows, organizations can streamline operations and create a culture of accountability and focus. How do you integrate SOPs into your team's workflow? #sop #workflows #efficiency #teamwork #leadership

Weekly Business Tip: How to Align Your Team with Your Vision Alignment is one of the most important contributors to the success of an organization. However, getting your team to align toward a common goal can turn out to take more work than one would expect. But when your team appreciates and proceeds to embrace the company vision, then there is an increase in the performance, decisiveness, and creativity of the team as a whole. There are three key actions you can implement in order to get your team to align with your vision creating success at the organizational level: Be Clear in the Message and Frequency: A vision statement alone is not enough. It's important to live and breathe your vision statement through daily actions. Share it in meetings, integrate it into your strategic plans, and ensure it's a living, breathing part of your company culture. This fosters a sense of purpose and direction that drives everyone forward. Create Common, Measurable Outcomes: Alignment is not just about words; it's about actions. By outlining specific, measurable results that contribute to the vision, you give your team a clear roadmap to success. When every department, team, and individual understands their role in achieving these goals, alignment becomes a natural part of the process, keeping everyone focused and goal-oriented. Encourage a Feedback Culture: Alignment is a two-way street. By fostering a culture of open communication and feedback, you show your team that their voices are heard and their contributions are valued. This not only helps you address issues early on, but also allows you to adapt your strategy in response to changing circumstances, making everyone feel part of the decision-making process. 🔗 Do you want to ensure your team fully aligns with your company's vision? Fostering psychological safety, empowering your team members are crutial steps in creating high performing teams. ⭐️As a good engineering leader one should be able to drive the team to emphasize on the outcomes and not necessarily output. ⭐️Defining clear roles and responsibilities is key to attaining mutual trust and collaboration. This may sound counterintuitive but this reduces friction between teams goals, helps achieve effectiveness, efficiency and drive productivity. ⭐️Ensure that the relevant team members are tied in early and perpetually at all levels of active discussions involving product strategy, business feasibility to understand the ‘bigger picture’. ⭐️Define and work towards common objectives. Ensure gathering early feedback from customers, business on the features being delivered, does it add value, is this usable, is this feasible, is the viable. ⭐️Ensure the team have the right tools for the right job. ⭐️Understand everyone on the team brings a unique ability thats pushes the team to deliver faster, better. ⭐️Review organizations goals and key metrics regularly to keep the team goals at par with organizations vision. ⭐️Lastly trust your team and let it fly 🙂. #teamproductivity #leadershipgoals
