Marketer @ Sitechecker -> site health & search visibility monitoring for agencies

7 facts about the impact of technical SEO errors It's hard to ignore the low Website Score. Our clients often complain that a bad Website Score at Sitechecker frustrates them and they work hard to correct all the errors. We communicate that this is our internal metric. It needs to be improved, but it's not the only metric you're working on. This is an assessment only of the technical SEO health of the website. You also have links, content, user experience, brand queries, and so on. When prioritizing work on your site, remember that: 1/ Not all technical errors can kill your traffic. 2/ Not all technical bug fixes can increase your traffic. 3/ A site with a bad Website Score may be successful in search results. However, this is often despite technical errors, and correcting errors can help it become even more successful. 4/ The significance of technical errors differs from the size of the sites. The larger the site, the more important the technical health of the site. 5/ The ROI for fixing technical errors differs from the size of the site, the industry, the cost of developer work, and the importance of SEO as an acquisition channel. 6/ The higher the competition, the more valuable every small advantage is. A technically healthy website is one of them. 7/ By focusing on the ease of Google crawling and indexing pages, we underestimate the impact of technical errors on the user experience. 3rd party metrics are just that - third party. They don’t reflect what Google does or is looking at, they just do their best approximation of it. Scale also matters. Is improving CWV from a 40 to an 80 going to make a noticeable difference? Maybe. Is moving it from an 85 to a 90 likely to make a difference? Not really.
