Please do better, Cloudflare. It is suspicious to give admin permission by default to streamline the onboarding of SOME new users. I'd say it raises many questions about why you do it by default. UPDATE (16-12-2024 19:00 UTC+1): After asking in Discord, I see there are no signals yet to roll that back. From 18th December, all new connections to the Cloudflare app on GitHub will only give you the option to connect with Admin and Contents permissions WITHOUT a way to opt out at a later date. All current integrations can opt out by just doing nothing on GitHub. This is an awful decision, as a use case for those permissions is to streamline the template feature from the Cloudflare dashboard, but at the same time alienate the rest of the user base. What they should have done is have a second application with those permissions for users who want to opt-in to Cloudflare being able to manage their code repositories.
I’ve lost everything because of Cloudflare, my business, my home, and they won’t respond to anything I send them for support, it’s been almost 2 years. They send me dumb emails telling me about being managed but won’t stop the attack I’m under. @cloudflare
Thanks for the question! If you choose to decline, you can continue to connect repositories and deploy changes via the Cloudflare GitHub App, but you will not have access to upcoming features that require these new permission updates. Please note that we are asking for Repository Administration (https://docs.github.com/en/rest/authentication/permissions-required-for-github-apps?apiVersion=2022-11-28#repository-permissions-for-administration) access, which is different from Organization Administration (https://docs.github.com/en/rest/authentication/permissions-required-for-github-apps?apiVersion=2022-11-28#organization-permissions-for-administration).
