After lots of tweaking, Craig and me have published the first version of the Scrum Guide (LeSS Version). This is the version of Scrum that LeSS assumes within the LeSS rules. This Scrum Guide van be found at: https://lnkd.in/eDBunFV3 (and the PDF version on there too) If you are curious about the differences, this is the change summary copied from the document: ------- This update to the Scrum Guide has the Scrum Guide 2020 as a basis, yet some parts have been taken from the Scrum Guide 2017 instead. The larger changes are: * Re-introduced product instead of “work for complex problem.” * Removed the Scrum Team concept. * Renamed Developers to Team. * Removed Sprint out of Events and made it a separate thing. * Renamed Product Goal to Product Vision. * Removed “creating and communicating Product Backlog Items” from Backlog * Management in the Product Owner section. * Removed Topic 1/2/3 terminology and just called it why/what/how. * Added Product Backlog Refinement to the Scrum Events, yet mentioned that it can be done as an activity rather than an event. * Removed the language of commitment to artifacts. * Moved Sprint Goal in one place, inside Sprint Planning. * Introduced Definition of Done, not as commitment but as an agreement. ------- With this change we hope to create a stable base and focus on the more interesting LeSS parts such as the organisational design system, adoption challenges, and different event structure. #lessworks #newscrum #scrum

The success of Agile hinges on effective communication and collaboration. Are too many events a major issue? It depends on how they're conducted. By working together, developers, Scrum Masters, and stakeholders can fine-tune the Agile process to optimize workflow, reduce meeting fatigue, and deliver exceptional results.
Are Scrum and Agile Events Killing Developer Vibes? Let’s Talk Productivity! Are Scrum Masters spending more time than usual in meetings? It’s certainly a possibility, especially when you factor in the various events and discussions that come with the territory. But here’s the thing: while meetings are an essential part of the Agile process, it’s crucial that they’re conducted efficiently and effectively. Scrum Masters need to find the right balance, ensuring that meetings serve their purpose without becoming a productivity drain. The founders of LeSS are embarking on an interesting experiment: Forking the Scrum Guide! I will confess that the latest editions of the Scrum Guide have posed issues for me. It feels like it's written for a one-team scenario exclusively, while in reality most of us are dealing with a multi-team scenario, and the guide is making it harder and harder to adopt the right mindset for this more common scenario. Therefore I am curious to see what happens with this new Guide which is designed to be a foundation for multi-team Scrum.

This is a fantastic post on accountability in a Scrum work environment. John Coleman offers valuable insights into whether stakeholders and leaders should hold accountabilities in Scrum. I personally favor hybrid methodologies in project management for their practical flexibility, allowing for the integration of more traditional accountability structures. While the current trend in project management and DevOps leans towards a more distributed and flatter authority and accountability model, John Coleman explores the question of who should be responsible for holding others accountable. Check it out: [https://lnkd.in/exsKdTnm] #Scrum #ProjectManagement #BusinessIntelligence #HybridMethodologies #Accountability.
Should 'stakeholder' and 'leader' be accountabilities in Scrum, like Scrum Master, Product Owner, and Developers?
