International Women's Day 2024 Today, we join the global community in celebrating the coming International Women's Day, a day to honour the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world. We are proud to be a tech company that values diversity, equity, and inclusion in our culture and our products. We believe that technology can be a powerful tool for social change and innovation, and that women have a vital role to play in shaping the future of tech. That's why we are committed to supporting and empowering women in tech, both within our company and beyond. Women make up over 45% of our managers, and we are constantly striving to increase their representation and leadership at all levels. We also partner with organizations that promote women's education and participation in STEM fields, such as Women in Transport. However, we also recognize that there is still a long way to go to achieve gender parity and inclusion in the tech sector and in society at large. Women in tech face many barriers and biases, such as the gender pay gap, the lack of mentorship and role models, the underrepresentation in decision-making positions, and the harassment and discrimination in online and offline spaces. That's why we are not only celebrating women's achievements today, but also raising our voice and taking action to challenge the status quo and drive positive change. We are inspired by the theme of this year's International Women's Day: #InspireInclusion. Inclusion means that everyone, regardless of their gender identity, race, ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, or any other aspect of their identity, is valued, respected, and given equal opportunities to thrive. Inclusion means that we listen to diverse perspectives, learn from different experiences, and collaborate across boundaries. Inclusion means that we are stronger together. We invite you to join us in this journey of inspiring inclusion, not only today, but every day. Here are some ways you can get involved: Share your story of how you or someone you know is making a difference in tech as a woman or an ally. Use the hashtags #IWD2024 and #InspireInclusion and tag us ITO WORLD. Learn more about the history, achievements, and challenges of women in tech by reading, watching, or listening to some of the resources https://lnkd.in/eBFWt7nF. Support the work of organizations that are advancing women's rights and empowerment in tech and beyond. Take the #iwd2024 pledge to inspire inclusion in your personal and professional life, and encourage others to do the same. Together, we can forge a more inclusive, diverse, and innovative tech sector and society. Happy International Women's Day!

It is International Women's Day... a day indeed to reflect on and recognise the progress we are making on equality, diversity and inclusion. A thoughtful quote from Sheryl Sandberg below ... there will be a day when we will not have to say female leaders, rather it will be exceptional leaders. #IWB #InternationalWomensDay #womenintech #diversityintech #leadership #OneSC

Have you ever been inspired by stories that challenge the status quo? I recently watched an inspiring video hosted by Purpose Jobs, "Inspiring the Next Generation of Women in Tech." It was so enlightening to hear from Alison Accavitti Julia Winter Chevonne James and Elizabeth Heaton as they shared their unique journeys into the tech world. But amidst the inspiration, the statistics are still quite alarming according to Exploding Topics: ⭐ As of 2023, women only hold 26.7% of tech jobs ⭐ Women currently hold only 26.7% of tech-related jobs. ⭐ Tech firms with more than 10,000 employees report women's representation at 26.2%. ⭐ The percentage of women in all tech-related careers has actually decreased over the last 2 years. ⭐ Women in software engineering report a lack of equal pay, making 0.93 cents for every dollar that men in the field make. Despite these challenges, hearing these women's stories reminded me of the importance of representation and support in tech. Let's keep pushing for change and supporting each other in this journey! #womenintech #diversityintech #techleadership #genderequality #womenempowerment #blackwomensequalpayday,#techcommunity #inclusionmatters #breakthebias #techcareers #representationmatters #equalpay #womenwhocode #techinspiration #womeninstem #futureoftech

Today, on #InternationalWomensDay, I find myself reflecting on the progress made - and the long road ahead - for women in tech. We have come a long way, yet women constitute a mere 26% of IT workers. These figures are not because of a lack of interest, aptitude or ambition, but due to persisting stereotypes and bias. As industry leaders, it’s essential that we continue promoting inclusivity, mentoring our teams and championing each other's successes. A diverse and inclusive workforce makes us all stronger. The impact of more women in tech inspires greater innovation that will transcend the industry and make a substantial difference to our world. Let's harness that power! #WomenInTech https://lnkd.in/ebPRptvv #iwd2024 #genderequality

Great article by Cybele Negris, ICD.D on the need to double down on efforts to attract and retain women in the tech sector. Two comments that caught my attention: “Study after study underscores the need for greater efforts to support women in technology careers, not merely so their careers can advance, but so they don’t leave the field altogether taking their valuable experience with them. The gender brain drain in technology is persistent and detrimental with more than a third (36.2%) of women leaving not planning on re-entering the tech world, the most cited reasons being lack of advancement opportunities, dissatisfaction with their career development, gender bias, challenges managing caring commitments, and unsupportive work environments.” And: “Additionally we must expand the number of women in senior leadership roles with momentum because it positively impacts female employee engagement and retention, improves workplace culture and increases the likelihood of equal pay in organizations.”
