InfluxData dropped their latest 3.0 architecture update. It's interesting how they're leveraging Apache Arrow for in-memory processing and Parquet files for storage now. Whats interesting is their new approach to handling real-time data - they've got this smart ingester that makes data queryable before it even hits disk storage. However, I'm skeptical about how their custom partitioning will perform in high-pressure environments, especially when dealing with time-sensitive workloads (I been here before, have you?). Patroni Contributors Meeting 2024 in Munich "Patroni Contributors Meeting 2024 in Munich? What's that, you ask? Just a gathering of some of the brains behind the leading solution for enabling highly available PostgreSQL database clusters. Oh, and it happened to be the day before the prestigious pgconf.de 2024 in Munich. Did we mention Patroni is used in everything from simple setups to complex architectures, with small or large databases, on various operating systems? Yeah, it's kind of a big deal. And it's not just up to one company to keep this framework running smoothly - it's a joint effort by engineers from multiple companies. At the meeting, some exciting updates were discussed - from the implementation of semantic versioning to plans for future development and feature additions, including the switch from "master" to "primary"
