🎉 Excited to share that I've earned my AWS Certified Developer certification! Here are my key takeaways from the journey: 1. Deep work pays dividends. I found that dedicating a few long chunks of time towards studying each week was far more effective than brief everyday studying. 2. Details make the difference. Understanding AWS services at a high level wasn't too challenging, but the exam hinged on deep knowledge of specific features and configurations. The 80/20 rule really showed up here! 3. Hybrid note-taking wins. Writing paper notes is better for retaining content, but having notes that can’t be searched makes revisiting those notes harder. I ended up handwriting notes and then re-transcribing them into Google Docs, which helped with both retention and later studying. Grateful for this milestone and looking forward to putting these skills to work. This credential helps individuals showcase knowledge and understanding of core AWS services, uses, and basic AWS architecture best practices, and proficiency in developing, deploying, and debugging cloud-based applications by using AWS technology. Udemy Course - AWS Certified Developer – Associate https://lnkd.in/giNMKj2c This certification prep course is taught by Stéphane Maarek, an AWS expert and AWS certification instructor on Udemy. I really love his teaching style and have already used one of his courses on Udemy previously to prepare for AWS Certified Cloud Practioner exam. It provides 33 hours of a very high quality, informative lectures, 900+ slides with great explaination of concepts, hands on laboratory exercises on AWS and quiz after each section to solidify the knowledge. I recommend to go through lectures on 1.5 - 2x speed (you still be able to understand everything), take notes (its more convenient to review sections quickly on Notion then scrolling through slides), do the labs to understand how the concepts are applied in the Cloud on AWS. Once you are able to solve the quiz questions correctly and able to pass Final Exam on the course I really recommend you to go an extra mile and try to solve the AWS Certified Developer Associate DVA-C02 Practice Exams from Tutorial Dojo. Solving those timed practice exams helped me a lot, since the difficulty level of it matches the actual AWS Certified Developer Associate exam. Up to the next one!

Yesterday afternoon, I took the  AWS Certified Developer - Associate Exam. I studied for months, watched 20+ hours of lectures, took many practice tests, and applied what I was learning by developing serverless and event-driven architectures as a part of my job at Bridgestone and for personal projects in my own AWS account. Last night, I received an automated email from AWS Training Certification, and I quickly opened the email to see my results. I didn't pass. But I didn't FAIL either. Instead, it was a cold, automated message stating that "statistical anomalies" had been detected in my exam performance. My results were invalidated, and I was banned from taking any remotely proctored AWS exam again. I’ve appealed these results and findings, but regardless of what they find, I will have to take certification exam again. More than the frustration of having to retake the test and more than the frustration that the AWS team refuses to reveal what "statistical anomaly" they detected, I am feeling deeply disheartened. It feels as though my integrity is being questioned. After the pandemic hit in 2020, I completed several semesters of my undergraduate degree from home. I attended classes and took most of my exams online—just me at my dining room table with my computer and a proctor on the other side of the internet. Of course, the potential for dishonesty and cheating still existed, but I didn't. Every grade and every success had to mean something — because otherwise, what would've my degree meant at the end of it? And in the same way, what would this certification mean? I love to learn and I love what I do as a developer. It is why I choose continuous learning even outside of an academic institution and it is why I do personal projects/research outside of work even after spending 8 hours staring at my computer screen. So, regardless of the appeal verdict, I’ll be retaking the exam, and despite this setback, I’m choosing to stay focused and not let frustration cloud (pardon the pun) my view of AWS. I work with AWS every day and my commitment to learning and growing in this environment remains. Cheers to growing in knowledge, but also in patience and grace.

Hello Leute! 👊 I’d like to share with you an overview of the process I’ve been going through to get my much-desired AWS Developer Certification . ☁ First of all, a course is very important, it helped me save tons of time, I’m using one from @StepahneMareek, mainly because of two key points: - You don’t have to craw for content since it’s all organized. - It focuses only on the important information. More important than taking a course is knowing how to consume it. My approach is: 1. After a theoretical class, I get hands-on experience by practicing what I’ve learned (in my own AWS account). 2. To ensure I understand the concepts presented, I write notes about what I just learned. 3. Based on these notes, I create ANKI cards, which are basically a question followed by an answer. 👉 These cards are a very imporant step in this whole process, I use the ANKI cards system, which helps you to review the cards once you added them. ANKI presents the cards in a very smart way. You can check all the cards I’ve created so far at the link below. You can duplicate them or use inspiration to create your own cards (be aware that my cards are in Portuguese). This is a very effective way of gathering knowledge in a way you’ll never forget (it can be either good or bad, as you might remember a lot of useless things too 😆).
