🌙🌘🌗🌖 Controlling life is a step taken to solve problems. However, this is not only done through planning; planning comes with free will and choices. While directing the flow of life, the planner actually establishes a kind of dominance. This is the effective and proactive movement of the human mind. Planning provides guidance in shaping the future and reaching specific goals. However, this is not only about having a certain order but also about flexibility. While making plans, we should also be prepared to deal with unexpected situations. Action is the most important part of the plan. Planning is important, but implementing it is even more important. Planning is not just a concept on paper; steps must be taken for it to happen. In short, planning is not just about determining the future but also about shaping and controlling the present. By using the power of the human mind, we can determine the order and direction of our lives. #Planning #Live #Controll

The problem with over-planning: Things will interrupt your plan And when that certainly happens, you will have to not only adjust, but often be derailed by all of the adjusting that you will likely deal with🚧. Moral of the story: Get on with it. It's okay to have to figure things out on the way. No amount of planning will keep you equipped to handle what life throws your way🌪️. Know anyone that needs to hear this? How do you know when the plan is getting in the way of the work?🤔

Planning might seem unimportant to some because it focuses on future goals and how to achieve them. However, setting a clear goal allows you to create a step-by-step plan to reach it. Obstacles may arise, but with a well-defined objective, you can navigate and overcome them. Even in life, planning is essential; knowing what you want to achieve is crucial, and the need for planning never ends.

The planning fallacy is one of over 180 recognised cognitive biases. The planning fallacy describes our tendency to underestimate the amount of time it will take to complete a task, as well as the costs and risks associated with that task—even if it contradicts our experiences. This is why we struggle with budgets, forecasts, business plans, project plans and marketing strategies. We underestimate the challenge of dealing with the unknown and tend to bias towards simplification and optimism. But planning gives us comfort. So if you fail to plan then you plan to fail.

#1 key to getting things done? “Planning ahead” When you plan your day before it starts, you bring tomorrow’s goals into today. This helps you focus on: ➡️ What you can control ➡️ What’s most important ➡️ How to make steady progress ➡️ Staying organized and efficient Without a plan, the day can slip away! Make it a habit: ✅ Write down your goals for tomorrow. ✅ Break them into simple tasks. ✅ Do them one by one. Planning is how you turn dreams into actions. P.S. What’s one thing you’re planning to achieve tomorrow? ♻️ If you find value, let others benefit too. _________________________________________________ Ready for more insights? If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail. Without proper planning, you may find yourself aimlessly navigating through challenges without a clear direction or strategy. Planning helps you set goals, outline steps to reach those goals, anticipate potential obstacles, and stay organized. By not planning ahead, you increase the likelihood of making mistakes, missing opportunities, and ultimately falling short of your desired outcomes. In essence, failing to plan effectively is essentially setting yourself up for failure.

Join our next Mental Model Dōjō session on "Time to talk about the Planning Fallacy and what to do". Sep 10 Tue (Sep 9 Wed for US), free, sign-up link: agile-od.com/events. Synopsis: SO MUCH WASTED ENERGY is spent on planning things we don’t genuinely believe in. We all know the pattern: (a) we tend to be overly optimistic in our planning, underestimating the effort required to get things done. Then, (b) we experience a false sense of accomplishment once the planning is complete, as if the job is already halfway finished. Finally, (c) there are rarely any real consequences for missing a plan because, let’s face it, things seldom go as planned, right? Or, in cases like budgeting or sales targets, where missing the plan does have consequences, we often see unfortunate behaviors like window dressing and fudging results. So, what’s the point in planning? Is there any real value in it? Planning involves foresight, the ability to anticipate future events, and the capacity to devise strategies to achieve long-term goals. So yes, planning is essential. The real question is how to differentiate between good planning and bad planning. Join us to discover smart strategies for avoiding the pitfalls of planning fallacy and learn how to create truly effective plans. #coachtakeshi #agile #organizationdevelopment #leadership #emotionalintelligence
